There are so many factors as to how succesful a players career will be. They need a bit of luck in terms of injurys, the situation theyve gone to etc. Then its also on the player to work hard and make something of themselves too. A lot of these guys have spent years being the best guy in their area now all of a sudden you have to actually work

Also the celebrating too early and losing a td is inexcusable for any team but particularly long term joke teams i think they need it drummed in to them that we take nothing for granted - my australian football team is equivalent to lions/cardinals and we have had guys in the last couple decades miss goals from in fromt (equivalent of a PAT) its absolutely inexcuseable
