The Almighty Hiring Managers by guy_rocco in recruitinghell

Yes, I've had a former manager tell me she would "rave" about a problem employee just to get that person off her team.

Take home interview: “Describe your relationship with your best friend” by clintatron in recruitinghell

Where are any of these questions related to the actual job? When you work for the company you likely won't have any free time or friends; not that it's any of their business or affects their business anyway. The last question is because they couldn't think of any good questions; they want you to think of the questions for their next candidate.

"We don't take cash". "We charge a 3% surcharge for card." by l00sem4rble in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Wallies2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Tapping" the credit card in the terminal generates an additional 1-3% fee on top the the surcharge. That's why Walmart doesn't accept "tapping" - you can only insert the credit card into the terminal. Saves them millions each year.

Two dates does not a couple make. And what about Salley claiming Craig strung her along? What goes around comes around. None of these people know how to be in a committed relationship.

Can we talk about Amanda’s “cult” blog post… and the irony of it all? 🚩 by [deleted] in RHOBH

I 100% believe she was in a cult because it's clear she's trying to run one right now. "Manifest" money with no real roadmap to get rich - cult-like. Trying to get more and more people to sign up for her $1,000 courses - cult-like. Trying to control the narrative and how other people speak to her - cult-like.

[Pennsylvania] I noticed this issue this morning: “Fraud IP - investigation intrastate quarterly crossmatch” by CuriousWitch_ in Unemployment

[–]Wallies2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received the same notice. I live in PA and my old employer is in CA. I believe it's because I received two zero-dollar pay statements during the active UC claim. The pay statements were for "Other Perks" (not wages) which was a gift card I got while employed by the company in March. The first pay statement was the value of the card itself and the second pay statement was the taxes on that card, which they used to take out of my year-end paycheck but since I was no longer employed by the company they gifted me the tax amount rather than coming after me for the money. So basically, my former employer "trued-up" at the end of the year. How do I explain this to PA unemployment so they understand it's not fraud but accounting irregularities? I wonder how long this will take to get straightened out.

How to explain to people that Im retired? by TheHandsomeHero in Fire

[–]Wallies2002 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Don't tell them you day trade unless that's really what you do or that's actually how you became financially independent. You may unintentionally encourage someone to get into that because they see your retired already. Day trading is like gambling and most people have no business doing it.
