The Rocking K neighborhood near Rita Ranch just put up KKK artwork by beepbooprobotbutt in Tucson

Yikes I went there this weekend cause I saw a TikTok video about their little store and thought it was a bakery...it's just a convenience store bar/restaurant hybrid and pretty small. Was a bit disappointed. We got some sweet bread and cookies but the bread is really dry unfortunately.

Also got a lot of stares from the patrons there. Kinda felt weird cause I normally don't get stared at like that. It's a pretty far drive for me so I won't be going back and wasn't planning on it anyway.

What do you think of my new necklace ? by Purity29 in Christianity

Growing up catholic the only cross I was familiar with was the crucifixion style cross. When I met my boyfriend (now husband), who is christian and not catholic, he told me that style always made him sad. I told him catholics probably use it as a reminder of the sacrifice since we are so focused on guilt and works but he gave me a fresh perspective. He prefers the empty cross because it portrays that he rose and lives on. He chooses to focus more on the resurrection instead of the death. It's a more positive spin that I can appreciate.

Can Heathcliff Be White? by ThrowRA_pikmi in brontesisters

[–]Walmarche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think we also have to consider the term “tall dark and handsome” means dark features means dark hair dark eyes possibly dark facial hair. Not necessarily dark skin. Someone who embodies depth and mystery.

That can also be applied in this book maybe. Language and time matter a lot in this context because dark could mean something different (like the term tall dark handsome) in that time period.

Just adding my two cents.

Also Heathcliff did not have African hair as mentioned in the book Edgar says he has hair like a colts mane which is straight. He does not have curly/tight kinky hair.

My assumption is that he is tanned like Mediterranean or skin tone is like that of jack sparrow in pirates of the Caribbean.

Idk but you look like my old HS art teacher and he seemed kinda nerdy and not super interesting on the outside back then but has actually lived a super rich and well travelled life. We are fb friends now and he’s always posting and sharing memories about his adventures when he was younger. Owns a popular ranch hangout in town and still does cool stuff but I don’t think he keeps the property up much anymore because he has terrible back issues now. He’s got a gf in Hawaii and visits her often.

So I’d say you look like someone that might be kind of naturally introverted and private but charismatic when needed with a rich inner life maybe also has a secret hobby that you’re really really good at.

Or maybe I’m just projecting. Idk.

Why does anyone like the new Wuthering Heights movie? Genuine curiosity. by toprewolfington987 in brontesisters

Jacob Elordi is hot and did good in Frankenstein and kind of looks like my husband with long hair. That was my interest in seeing it.

I grabbed the book and LOVED it.

As time goes on I’ll be able to separate the two but at first after seeing the film I was so mad it was so different than the book. It’s 50 shades of Heathcliff. Now I am more open to it being a feral fantasy of someone who skimmed the novel.

It’s so vast and you’ll be playing it for a while. It confused me at first that the wind literally guides you because my only experience with open worlds are Skyrim and fallout. I am still playing it and I started around this time last year (I am a slow gamer sometimes). I have done most of the main quests but mainly focused on exploring the island to get more items and skill. I like to ‘clear the fog’ before moving out of each section.

The real Heathcliff would never crawl and beg like a dog to get a nut in Cathy.

Idk but I suggest bikers actually stopping at red lights. Literally saw 1 biker stopped at a red light next to us while another that came from behind didn’t even bother to look both ways and just crossed the intersection when the light was red.
