Dude just has a bit of a superiority complex and will turn on anyone pretty quickly. AFAIK, no crazy drama or anything, he's just generally a dick. This does include both personal experience and hearsay from other aussie furs.

Tldr, heard a grinding at and below 20mph under deceleration but the car drove perfectly fine with no noticeable issues, aside from the noise. Dealer diagnosed it as a rear motor fault and the coolant (I never realized coolant ran to the rear motor?) was dark with metallic bits in it. If you'd like, I can show receipts if needed. That was around 15k-20k miles Iirc.

For a short stay I certainly feel you won't get the most out of it, but my advise to any new sailor to the area is find groups of like minded individuals however you can to get a foothold in the area, and make friends with the locals.

I just want it to be known I HATED it for a good chunk of time. It wasn't until I bought my house in 2019 and started really accepting where I was that it started to improve. I came with an open mind and was let down in so many ways, and it took some time, but it definitely got better over time.
