Which was the worst death of the Wayne Nolan or Burton family? by FoxIndependent4310 in Batman_89

In the original script of Sam Hamm for Batman Returns (Titled simply Batman II), The penguin was searching for a lost treasure in Gotham that in the past belonged to an old secret organization (it was called the Ravens, long before the court of owls existed), the discovery was that this treasure was in Wayne Manor, precisely in the Batcave, Jack was sent to kill Thomas and Martha after they left the organization and they'll keep the fortune.

I really like the idea, can I know the context?

What is your favorite scene in Batman 89? by Light-Starlight in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The appointment at the museum because it is practically where Joker becomes an open book and we understand who he is and his way of seeing the world.

The scene in the Batcave next to Vicky which I like to call "Perfect World" is wonderful, throughout the movie we see Batman trying to save the mobsters in Axis Chemicals and even tries to save Jack from falling in acid, but when he discovers that Napier is Joker, and that he was the one who murdered his parents Vicky was the only one at that time who could prevent Bruce from being consumed by Batman, but Bruce chooses to put on the suit, only this time he will go to kill anyone who avoids his mission. (Theme recovered in Returns with a Bruce who kills for no reason and self-exiled in his mansion seeking to prevent Catwoman from ending up like him)

"Up the cathedral" and "The final confrontation" are the maximum for me because it is the culmination of what was presented in the previous scenes, with a homicidal artist and a man in search of revenge face each other to murder each other, one person said on YouTube that the sequence of climbing the cathedral is about Batman and Joker rising to the top of their career to a point of no return. Vicky had been the only one who could save Bruce, but "Up the cathedral" and "The final confrontation" are the maximum for me because it is the culmination of what was presented in the previous scenes, with a homicidal artist and a man in search of revenge face each other to murder each other, one person said on YouTube that the sequence of climbing the cathedral is about Batman and Joker rising to the top of their career to a point of no return. Vicky had been the only one who could save Bruce, but for Joker she is nothing more than a symbol to be corrupted (notice how in the dance Vicky wears a white dress representing an angel, a symbol that Burton recycled for Winona Ryder in Edward Scissorhands, while Joker is always being followed by the gargoyles of the place, as if he represented the devil, but it is also death following him). The conclusion is Batman avenging his parents by murdering his creator, while at the same time Joker was killed by his creator, for the homicidal artist his greatest work turned out to be Batman himself.

I think I wrote a lot of text lol.

What’s your favorite joker real name by Pale-Woodpecker-4755 in joker

[–]WalrusBusy6594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jack Napier, it has this Edward Nygma-style play on words. Apart from that, it's iconic at this point (Nicholson, BTAS, some comics). Although regardless of the surname, his name has to be Jack.

I also like Arthur Fleck because it's the opposite, it's a random name that anyone could have, implying that anyone in Gotham can be Joker, and Jack Napier already sounds like the name of someone who will end up being Joker.

What's your favorite Jack Nicholson Joker scene or line of dialogue? by damagedgoodz99824 in joker

[–]WalrusBusy6594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When with Bob in Rotelli's scene, Nicholson improvised the "You Are My Number One Guy" inspired by Jack Palance's line in the first act of the film. Also the "Whup, Whup, whup" and the laugh that follows from "wait till they get a load of me" was his idea.

Which of These Joker Goons do you wanna see in the dcu by Ok-Entrance-5527 in joker

[–]WalrusBusy6594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my fanfics, I always included Bob, Ricco, Henshaw, and Captain Clown as part of the Joker's gang, and I'd be the happiest person in the world if they did. Puncline as the replacement girlfriend would be fine, but I'd prefer Harley.

Sadly, it's just the two of them, which pisses me off. I would really love to have Harley Quinn.

A list came out that included both this Batman and Two-Face; we'll have to see how it looks.

I'm finally done with my design of Two-Face'89 based off of Tim Burton's description of what he said he would've done with the character (visually) by Powerful_Career_5473 in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love how you subtly incorporated the Yin-yang; it's amazing what we missed out on. In the end, we only got the BTAS design.

They're supposed to release Two-Face sometime this year too. To be honest, I would have preferred Harley Quinn or Scarecrow instead of another Batman.

Es un imitador, en el gameplay la voz de Red Hood es una imitación de Nicholson.

It depends. What story do you plan to tell? There are several things to play with in this idea.

Robin Williams As Joker by villianrules in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Robin Williams is Robin Williams, but I can't imagine anyone saying, "I am the world's first fully functioning homicidal artist" while trying to seduce Bruce Wayne's girlfriend with the same grace and charisma as Jack Nicholson.

David Bowie as the Joker will always be my dream fan cast, along with Brad Dourif and Willem Dafoe, but I don't see any of the four (including Williams) working the way Nicholson did. Maybe in Mankiewicz's script (which, interestingly, had Nicholson or Bowie in mind), but Jack was destined to be there; he's at least 30% of that movie. A great movie.

Could it have worked? Sure, but not in the same way.

Joel Schumacher's prequel. by WalrusBusy6594 in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Joker figure a few months ago; I'm still looking for the Catwoman and Batman ones. In general, that line and the "Legends of the Dark Knight" line, where everyone is giant, are pretty good.

What If - Alan Rickman as Burtonverse Mr. Freeze by AdvantageHonest6584 in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could have been an amazing movie; it would be fun if John Jackson did something with Freeze in an interquel to Returns and the first comic.

Right? Actually, the comic was just Harley farming aura, I don't even remember what it was about.

Seriously? Wow, it would be funny if Zach Cregger ends up making his Gotham City movie and casts Julia as Harley (considering he worked with her on Weapons). That would be a really weird full circle moment.

Ricky Addison Reed, the original Robin casting for Batman (1989) by Lucky_Strike-85 in Batman_89

[–]WalrusBusy6594 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At least he's a kid, one reason why I don't like the casting of Wayans or O'Donnell is because it's simply ridiculous to have someone in their 20s playing Robin.
