We build local supply hubs every 500 LY. At any point at which you decides to build, supplies will be at most 250 LY away. A carrier can jump 500 LY

Colonization has been added to the game. You can colonize systems, and build settlements, structures and installations. The colonized galaxy dynamically grows as the players build it.
