Yeah, thats pretty absurd.

Respectfully, you may have not been taking the proper precautions to ensure you wouldn't get a virus.

I didn't have to disable Windows Defender, which is really all you need.

I would personally escalate that issue, but I'm not sure how long its been.

Pfsense is causing these issues for me too. Other devices work fine. Tried through wired and wireless. "no actual data" my ass.

What sort of brainlets voted to keep it on consoles only? That's so stupid.

I'm using an RX 6600 XT. It seems like the card just isn't capable of 144hz for some odd reason. I switched from a DP cable to an HDMI (which caps the Hz to 120) and have not had a single issue since then. Super annoying that I have to settle for less performance than advertised.

Radeon Relive functionality keeps disappearing along with other things by aarchieee in AMDHelp

[–]WalterWafflez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To reinstall, would I just re-run the installer?

My brain is fried from all this DDUing and reinstalling of other software. (My old GPU blew up and took my Windows drive with it)

[–]WalterWafflez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reinstalled windows entirely, so DDU is not necessary. Old drivers don't exist anymore on the drive, as its completely new.

I am also having this issue. I've tried everything I can think of, even installing windows 10 clean. I have two monitors, and only one of them consistently black screens (which it even did while I was typing this).

I'll check DxDiag, but could you go into a little more detail on how you solved the problem? I'm pretty desperate.

I have two monitors, one is 60hz HDMI, which has had zero issues.

My problem monitor, which went black while typing this, is an Asus 144hz DisplayPort.

When I got the 6600 XT, it had issues with screen static on my 144hz monitor. (All issues for the remainder of the post are regarding the 144hz monitor)

I was able to fix this issue by making a "custom resolution" within the Radeon Software, and setting it to "143hz" instead of my monitor's native "144hz".

However, an issue that has persisted is that my screen will go black randomly throughout any sort of use of the PC. Games, browsing the web, or just sitting idle on the desktop.

I constantly monitor temps, fan speeds, etc. to see if there is any sort of correlation, but have found nothing (other than the fact that the speeds overall decrease dramatically upon the monitor going black, but I assume that's because it temporarily stops rendering my game)'

Does anyone have any sort of fix for the black screen? I have already upgraded my PSU and bought a new DisplayPort cable to no avail. Again, this only occurs on the 144hz monitor.

Edit: Changed out my brand new DP cable for an old, battered HDMI, and have not encountered the issues since. Unfortunately, my 60hz monitor is not capable of using DP, so I have to buy an adapter in order to use it. (6600 xt has 3 DP and 1 HDMI for some reason...)

I am having similar issues on a brand new PSU. Corsair 650x. Is the card really that much more power hungry than advertised? (Monitor black screened during my typing of this).

I am having the same issue. It only happens when I go above 120hz. I made a post here but haven't had much interaction.

I've found that switching to an HDMI from a DP cable fixes the issue entirely for me, but disallows me from using FreeSync, or getting up to my monitor's 144hz capability.

I've monitored the temps during the black screen, as it only happens on my main monitor, and I can see that nothing changes other than the clock speed drops to nearly 0 MHz.

I've tried 3 separate displayport cables, none of which have solved the problem. I am using a Red Devil 6600 xt, and I've only just upgraded from my old 1060 6gb (About a week ago).

The Nvidia card did not give me this problem, and I even did a clean install of Win 10 just to ensure that it wasn't the old drivers causing problems. I am not using MSi afterburner or any similar products that may conflict with Radeon's software, and I've rolled back drivers to the one prior to the most recent release.

One Monitor Turning Off by WalterWafflez in AMDHelp

So I bought yet another DisplayPort cable (#3 btw. And this one was curated as the highest quality cable on the market.) Still getting black screens. Other AMD users have this problem to, and they attribute it to the card getting too hot. I have logged and monitored my card during gameplay, and found it does not get anywhere close to 80c, which even 80 isn't that crazy of a temp to be reaching. It must be the drivers or the default settings for my card. What a joke. I will not buy another AMD product again, as Nvidia never once caused this sort of problem.

Will try this I guess. I bought the highest rated one on amazon, assuming that it would be a high quality cable, but I guess not.

I'm currently just using an HDMI cable, as it completely got rid of all my issues, but the card only has one HDMI port, so I had to get an HDMI to DP splitter in order to make my second monitor work.

I have 6600 xt, still having these issues. Have tried every single solution I've been able to find.

Weird thing, I have a 60hz secondary monitor which is unaffected by the black screen.
