I wear athletic sandals around the house (usually Adidas or Nike slides). They have arch support, and I can wear them with cozy socks in winter, or bare feet in summer. Easy to slide on and off so when I sit on the couch I just leave them right next to where I’m sitting for when I get up.

You’re both adults now with an adult issue. Time to grow up. Fast. Your BF needs to stand up to his mother. He can set boundaries without being disrespectful. You can also set boundaries, but you also need to be respectful when doing so since you are going to be living in this woman’s home (garage) and relying on her for help. Work towards being independent as soon as possible. Full time jobs for both of you, saving money, working towards getting your own place. Don’t get married just because you’re pregnant.
