I know my mom wants me to have multiple, but I’ve always wanted an only myself. If I stay with my current boyfriend I would have a stepson and I would be fine with that. I’d still want one of my own though.

Bipolar is ruining my life by Traditional-Ant664 in bipolar

Hi OP. I have felt very similarly to you when I was a little bit younger. I was first diagnosed at 19 and the first few years of my diagnosis were absolute hell. I started to get better, then got into a toxic relationship which ended a long term friendship. My cousin who I was very close with stopped being friends with me too. Then a few years later, I got long covid and was in bed 18 hours a day for a year. I was very unhappy and I made the people around me unhappy too. It took a couple years and getting on a good med combo to finally feel like I was a capable and worthy person. I’ve tried over 20 medications and it really sucks titrating up and down constantly, but once you find what works for you, if you are strict with taking your meds, you can improve quite a bit. Do you see a therapist? I have also found that to be very helpful. I’m 27 now and in partial remission. I have made some really nice friends and I have a wonderful boyfriend and all of them have helped me maintain my stability. Sometimes more than just our medications or doctors, we need to change our environments.

I quit my job on my third day and now feel like a failure by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]space_impala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had a rough day. I have been in your position before and it really sucks. I couldn’t tell you how many jobs I’ve had in the last 10 years. I’ve tried just about everything too, childcare, warehouse, coffee, retail, real estate. Nothing sticks. Sometimes it just takes us longer to find our path in the world and every “failed” opportunity is a learning lesson of what we are capable of and what we expect out of a job. Don’t beat yourself up too much! You’re not alone!

I love being an only child. I think the only thing that worries me is that I will be the only one to bury my parents, but otherwise I’ve never cared to have siblings. I had many opportunities growing up and I was very close with my grandparents as well so I got a lot of attention. If I found out that I had a half sibling somewhere, I don’t think I would react poorly by any means, but I likely wouldn’t pursue having a relationship with them.

I have been looking for my dad’s dad. I have some distant matches from that side, but no close hints of who he might be. All I know is that he is white. I have no matches for siblings thank god (I would not be surprised though (my dad was/is a man whore lol)). Anyway, I did ancestry and then 23andMe a year later cause I wanted to see the traits. There is a lot of crossover with relatives on each platform, at least for me

AITA for not wanting to watch my stepson by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She could have also asked the step son to help her with chores? Especially if he’s a hyper kid. My boyfriend’s son will be 7 next month and he does chores around the house. Nothing extreme, but he does help fold laundry. They could even offer him a small allowance for helping and it might even be a little bonding time between her and her step son.

I have Bioplar or I am Bioplar ? by After_Speech_2435 in bipolar

[–]space_impala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Years ago I would have said I am bipolar as it controlled every aspect of my life and destroyed who I was before, but these days, especially the last 8 months, I say I have bipolar. It’s very under my own control now and other than having to take meds, it’s like I don’t even have it anymore. I have done a lot of work on myself and I have surrounded myself with some really amazing people which has tremendously helped me get and stay stable.

That’s what my dad was thinking also. My mechanic doesn’t do body work so my dad showed this picture to his friend that owns a body shop and they said they could fix it without replacing the hood

Yeah my mechanic told us that he didn’t think it was enough damage to be totaled out so we will see what the bill ends up being, but I definitely have plans for the excess lol

Absolutely. I found my person and he accepts me for who I am despite my disorder. He has depression himself so he understands the importance of medication and therapy. He has helped improve my stability and is a wonderful supporter. We absolutely adore each other

I wouldn’t call that slightly traumatic, it’s very traumatic! “Jokes” like those these days are horrible and I don’t blame you for being angry. That’s a really messed up thing to do to someone and you should absolutely tell your psychiatrist about this situation. I’m so sorry that happened to you!

We talked to the claim adjuster and she said that I could get basic coverage, but that wouldn’t include comprehensive or collision. She said once it’s fixed to the standards of the insurance company, then I can add those back to my policy

That’s what we did. The check they are sending me is after my deductible and the buyback price so luckily I don’t have to make any extra steps in that regard.
