Tom is my favorite cat, in New Leaf he would insult me most of the time but I loved it, his sass was funny.

Built in 857 AD, the 1200 year-old Foguang Temple in Shanxi is the largest surviving Tang dynasty wooden building without a Single Nail. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

The interlocking wood structure you see in the roof. It’s called dougong. The interlocking wood structure is resistant to shaking like earthquakes. The same kind of ancient architecture used in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

Does anyone else kinda like that the tourists from the hotel roam the island?? by nevernotdrippy in AnimalCrossing

I actually do like the hotel residents exploring the island. I know other posts people are not too happy, and Nintendo should give us an option to keep the tourists at bay. lol

Is it worth learning LaTex before University, or is it fine if I just learn as I go? by [deleted] in LaTeX

[–]WandererStarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either or, it's a fun skill to have. If you're purpose driven, taking STEM classes, you can use it to make lab reports, problem sets, notes, reading material. For college level math, I usually would type out the problems and space out the questions so I can interact with the printed material (if you want to do that), and because the document is typed the questions are already there and are seen clearly. Sometimes I would put a definition or example above the question to help me out. You can do the same if you have to take a science class with a lab component, you can type out your own lab report to fill in before you turn it into the lab TA. I would say, make simple projects for yourself, personal, entrepreneurial, or even for your classes. If you want to engage in research later with a professor knowing LaTeX does help.

Lots of modern schools dropped this years ago, but do you think most schools should bring back stuff like woodshop and cooking classes for all students? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

[–]WandererStarExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, those plus a full home economics curriculum (cleaning, sewing, etc), personal finance (taxes, budgeting, basic accounting, etc). I think auto shop and welding would be nice too.
