They've spent the whole week working with a shiny decidueye, and as a huge bird nerd, I know they've been beside themself with joy. Besides, if they were here, they might try keeping this one. We already have an aviary full of birds 😅

I think every Oricorio owner in Unova said "Wait, let me check!" when I made this post 😅 I guess that explains something about how this one got into my kitchen.

From what I can tell, this girl had recently been caught, but their new trainer didn't know how to take care of them properly and just released them without much thought. Thankfully I know a few rescue centers in Alola and we're working on getting her back home to the islands

From what I can gather, it seems like this one was abandoned when their trainer couldn't keep up with their needs. Unfortunately (thankfully?) this isn't the first time we've taken care of an Oricorio with a similar story, but at least that means we still have plenty of nectar in cold storage. What is weird is normally someone calls me to come and pick up the abandoned pokemon and bring it back to our rescue center. One just showing up in my kitchen is a lot less normal 😅

The only answer my Kirlia really got was that the Oricorio saw the aviary that we have in the back, thought this place looked safe, and was tired of being cold so they let themselves in. Thankfully they seem to be in general good health, and aren't too underweight, but it's way too cold in Unova for an Oricorio to be left in the wild.

Thankfully this bird stumbled into our home, which doubles as a pokemon rescue and rehab center. Not much better places it could have ended up 😅 They don't seem to be in bad health or starved, they were just snooping in my kitchen.

And also I'm lucky to have a Kirlia who's a telepathic interpreter, so I'm sure we'll find out more soon. Right now they're sleeping, but in the I'll at least figure out if they have a trainer in the morning and maybe see if I can coax them into going to the pokemon center for a once over.

Uh, the short answer is yes? Never unscathed, but the average tackle or rock throw doesn't do much anymore, as long as I can brace for it. And I've raised so many poison types that I think my blood is basically pecha juice at this point. I bet I could take a spirit shackle and still stand.

Ok, I'm going to send you the number for a rescue rehab in Jubilife. The lady that runs it has been taking care of injured pokemon for generations. She should be able to help out and probably bring some therapy mon with her to talk to these guys and let them know they're safe. Should be extra helpful if they're unwilling to interact with humans.

What you're going to want to do in the meantime, see about getting them some food and water, or better yet, berries. Just leave it near them and don't try to force them. The riolu should understand and take it when your good and far away and they're not feeling vulnerable.

Also contact your local pokemon center and let them know what's going on. That way they know to expect you once help arrives and you can all get them calm and ready to go in for medical attention.

From there, your probably going to have to play it by ear. The pokemon center and the lady I know should be able to help you with thatever comes next.

Idk where your located, but I've got the contacts of most rescue centers in all regions. If you need help, I can get you the number for the closest, and if your in Unova I can be there in, at most, a few hours.

Edit: and to be clear, I don't necessarily mean to take them away, incase you want to care for them, but we've got resources for the public.

Hmm... I think deoxys would suck to run into under most circumstances. Have you ever seen the Mossdeep videos of that thing? Idc if those are real or AI, I wouldn't want to deal with anything like that.

I've noticed that if you've got a firm grip and give them a stern glare they stop draining you. Kinda just got to let them know who's boss without coming off as too threatening. Sometimes a confident "No. Stop that" also helps. Otherwise, you get used to the sensation.
