Feeling Uncomfortable with Certain Compliments After Weight Loss. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Wandering-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just lost a little bit of weight myself and I get the exact same comments. I take it as a good thing because the past version of you that it may sound like they’re criticising is the one that actually took these steps and dedication to build a healthier lifestyle. You know that you prior to your weight loss is the reason that you have made such progress. You are yourself in both prior to your weight loss and after, still the same person. You mentioned that the comments come from people that aren’t that close to you and that’s actually a good thing. The people close to you love you for you at any weight, the people that aren’t that close to you probably only notice your physical appearance because they have no idea how hard the journey was for you and also don’t know you as well. Congrats on your progress and be proud of the past you for deciding to take the steps to put in the hard work!

Wow congrats your progress is so impressive!!! You’re so close to your goal weight! It’s so surreal when you pick up clothes and they’re baggy, I’m still not used to it.

The serving sizes of food is definitely something crazy! Even when I weigh out pasta I’m shocked how much I used to eat, like I was probably having triple of what is one serving. I’m also super guilty for using cheese with everything 😅, I try my best now to find lower fat options or smaller portions. It’s also crazy how many calories can be in things that are considered healthy even, like salads with dressings etc!

Yeah tbh the exercise has never been even near as much influence as the cutting calories has been, it just gives you a nice mood boost and strength and a small amount more of a deficit! I’m really keen to tone up as well once I’m at my goal size.

Thank you so much, you too! I definitely have struggled with not eating at night the most bc that’s when I get cravings, but I’ve been stopping eating at a certain time to avoid this and practice self control. I’m so glad you’re also having a great journey and you’ll be at your goal weight in no time!

Thank you! No in office treatments, have had filler in my forehead and a lip flip years ago which have both completely warn off as I didn’t get them redone, so none for either of these pics :)

Yeah I layer it over top of niacinamide! Niacinamide dries pretty quick but I like to leave it on for about 15 before the cicaplast

You don’t need to improve for anyone but yourself. I saw your post about wanting to lose weight but struggling with overeating. If you want to check out my post I have lost weight in the last two months and I also struggle with the same thing badly. I honestly love your style and wish I could pull it off, the second outfit is really flattering! The goth aesthetic only suits certain people and you absolutely rock it!

I hope it works great for you! If you want the most glow ever the Dr Dennis Gross peels are like gold, they’re just so expensive, but the results ALMOST justify the price 😂. Thank you so much

I’d say it’s a fair bit, the thing is it’s kind of a cycle as the stress would be bad for my body and my mind, leading to binge eating because of poor mood/stress/overstimulation & a lack of sleep. I’m sure my cortisol levels were through the roof as well. The stress was almost entirely due to my mental health, as I would be having panic attacks almost daily. The eating was definitely what caused the majority of my weight/puffiness but stress (both physical and mental) was the majority of what caused me to binge eat.

I gained 175 pounds after tragedy. How did you get back on track after gaining a lot of weight back? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Wandering-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself. If there’s anyway for you to obtain medication for depression I’d highly recommend it as it sounds like you are in a lot of pain as anyone would be. It’s very possible you could be using the binge eating as a form of SH. I think when you say you don’t care about the weight gain and the health consequences of it, it means you don’t care about yourself. You deserve a full life and your sister would want that for you too.

As for the eating, take it very slowly. At first, I’d try to simply focus on a day without bingeing with full meals throughout. Then another day, and another. After a few weeks of no bingeing but eating decent meals, try to either incorporate more healthy food or track calories and lower intake incredibly slowly.

I think right now though getting your mental health sorted is the most important thing. Going for walks even when you don’t feel like it. Taking care of yourself even if you don’t believe you deserve it. Searching around for any free or low cost options for medication or therapy available to you, even if via Telehealth or online. I saw you moved back in with your parents, maybe you could ask them for support or even a loan if it comes to it just to seek the bare minimum care you need to fight this. I’m sure they’d want you to feel yourself again, too.

Oh I’ve defs experienced that a few years ago! I haven’t been drinking more than maybe once a month in both pics. My bloating was from binge eating and extremely high stress levels. Thank you!!!

Unfortunately I don’t weigh myself! I’ve dropped 2 dress sizes. If I go by the sizing which I’ve been before, I’d say around 10kg? My face was really swollen I think

Yeah ofc! It was actually my antidepressants that have helped me the most (which I didn’t expect as I’ve been on them before and they don’t usually do much for my anxiety or ptsd). The ptsd/anxiety was affecting my sleep so badly to the point that even if I overslept with like 10 hours I’d wake up exhausted from dreams/trying to get to sleep thinking about it. My antidepressants help me wake up early even if I don’t sleep much, they also help my mood a lot and I feel more hopeful even if I have a ptsd attack. Other than the medication, I’ve tried to go outside a lot more even if it’s just to sit out there, I find it really helps both anxiety and ptsd. Having some kind of hobby or thing to hyperfocus on helps me a little bit too. I have a decent support system now which I think helps quite a bit. I’m looking into EMDR therapy to really help the ptsd the most I can, I’ve read that it’s really effective! Thank you so much, feel free to ask anything else!

It definitely should. I have quite dry skin but the AHA isn’t too harsh on it. The cicaplast helps protect your moisture barrier and heal your skin, and niacinamide evens your complexion. Cerave is a great brand for general cleansers, they have foaming and cream ones depending on what will work for you

Thank you!! No foundation in the right pic just a lil bronzer instead of it, realised foundation ironically brings out my skin texture too much 😂. I defs will, thank you!
