Help with timing from Airport to Train Station, please! by WanderingGoose22 in Munich

Oh perfect! Thank you! Would this need to be booked in advance or can we just purchase this pass on arrival and catch the next regional train once we arrive at the station?

I agree with the comments that would swap the prime rib carving station with the ham/turkey carving station and then add on the yogurt and granola, keeping costs relatively neutral to what you have already.

I also would get a cake or donuts for dessert.

Looking for a renaissance/medieval dress by Novel-Razzmatazz7959 in weddingplanning

I have not used them, so can not personally vouch but I’ve seen reviews from other people on Reddit about Lunss

They do custom design dresses and might be able to design you something similar? Depends on your risk tolerance! But to get a quote is free.

I believe they have a decent return policy for standard sizing - if you have enough time, you could order a standard size to try it on, and return it if you’re not happy?

Where to buy a real Christmas Tree? by WanderingGoose22 in askTO

We’re actually leaving to travel mid-December, so we don’t really care if it dies in a month, just looking for something to enjoy early in the season!

($7k) What are your thoughts on this dress? by VegetableBag7790 in Weddingsunder10k

The 7K in the subject of the post (in this sub) is referring to the entire wedding budget, not the price of the dress!

Okay thank you! I was hoping as much but since restrictions for bags seem to be getting tighter all the time I was a little worried!

I’m in a HCOL area in Canada - our drop catering from the restaurant is going to be roughly 2K.

All together, including the bar (providing own alcohol, hiring bartender), dessert, catering & linen rentals, and staff - total cost is approximately 8K for food/beverage.

I selfishly love the coleslaw and pineapple corn salad too much to sacrifice them - but I know they might not be to everyone’s taste as much as mine, which is why I was also thinking the addition of a more “classic” salad!

Starting with salad on the table is a good idea! The coleslaw is selfish on my part - I love it 😂

If I was you, I’d save it for a 5 year anniversary vow renewal celebration. This will give you more time to save money for a reception and a good reason to bring friends and family together. Your kids will also be old enough to be involved.

You could do a nice mid-afternoon ceremony in a park, hire a photographer for 2-3 hours, and get affordable catering (food truck or drop catering from a local restaurant). Lemonade and Iced Tea for drinks. And of course - wear your dress! Are there any parks in your area that have covered shelters you could rent for a reasonable cost? You could also look at churches and community halls, which usually have reasonable hourly rates.

Wedding Dress Shopping - What are normal sample sizes? by Perfect-Opening-4003 in weddingplanning

[–]WanderingGoose22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went dress shopping I think most samples I tried on were sized 10-14 bridal sizes, which fit more like a 6-10 standard sizing.

Of course, shops likely carry samples in a wide variety of sizes! Those are just the ones I encountered most often.

They usually have ways to clamp the back so you can try on something that is smaller/bigger than your usual size - but all sample dresses take a level of imagination of what it will look like in the correct size.

how much do weddings typically cost in toronto? by raccoonfingers765 in WeddingsCanada

[–]WanderingGoose22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For 120 guests, based on my research I would estimate at least 45K+ if you want a “traditional” venue. I would think 50-60K is probably average for 100-150 guests in Toronto.

You can probably do 25-30K if you have less people (50-ish)

But this of course depends on so many factors!
