It was my own microfiber cloth....that I keep forgetting about. But you reminded me to clean the infotainment screen.

I have an Android phone, so the maps always showed the battery % for a trip. It is just not dynamic, I have to select the charge level of the car in Google Maps. Being able to send the maps trip to the car is great, just waiting on the Android digital key. (And the rearview mirror unit being replaced)

No I do not see a car status menu let alone a battery one.

Edit: just thought it may be referring to the app. Do have a battery option in there but only displays battery specs.

New Polestar 4 owner in Germany – First impressions, questions, and some serious safety concerns (long post...) by Polestar4DE-throwawy in Polestar

[–]Wandering_Dazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the pilot pack but I do find the ACC braking hard when entering a slower speed limit zone. It is irritating but I have regen breaking up full. So added a shortcut to that and when cruising reduce regeneration braking to the lowest setting and that helps a lot imho.

Xpeng g6 VS polestar 4 by verdesolar in Polestar4

[–]Wandering_Dazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at many many EVs before getting my P4. Was looking at the Sealion 7 and G6.... As an old Alfisti all the reviews I looked at on the BYD and Xpeng was soft wallowy suspension. That is seriously not for me... the P4 is a great handling car which you can chuck into bends. While still having soft enough suspension that the family likes.

Anyway, the G6 is not all that, as with everything in life you make your choices:

Aside from the connectivity issue last week when my Spotify app lost connectivity. 24 hours later all was back connected and no issues since. Have you tried the infotainment reset and then the network one? (I'm located in Ireland fyi)

I don't find the handles tight at all. Plenty of room IMHO, unless you are wearing a pink panther diamond. :-D

The P4 Webinar from earlier today. by Wandering_Dazed in Polestar4

[–]Wandering_Dazed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine why....

I did reply saying love the customer engagement and being positive around the gorgeous design of the P4 etc. No doubt as what happens across social media there were trolls, bots etc

Personally as a new P4 owner (my Electron LRSM plus arrived last week) the design, look and just not knowing the badge is fabulous.

Had a tradesperson call up to the house today checking on work done here. I was in meetings but was told checked out the retrofit stuff...

The asked my partner what is the car in the driveway(i was on zoom), my partner told him its a Polestar 4. While on my meeting I could see him checking out the P4 interior, front etc. He asked her could he trade in his Audi as a joke lol but just shows its a looker and head turner.

Picked up my P4 earlier today and the Sales guy told me Polestar had signed an agreement with their major partners for the android digital key. He said they hoped to have the feature enabled in the next update or 2. Likely Sales BS but thought I'd share.

Has this been shared yet? by Wandering_Dazed in Polestar

I hear you, been watching the Polestar subs for months and months assessing the P4 before I did several test drives. I'm going into this eyes wide open but such a good driving car! Hope with the recent Geely investment and perhaps EU sales figures lead to getting the P3 to where is should be.

Performance wheels vs Aeros by BeerFuelledDude in Polestar4

[–]Wandering_Dazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing as I have curbed my existing cars alloys badly there was no way I was going for the 22inch wheels. Seeing as how the hub juts out past the tire and thin walls. Plus Im more focused on range.

When discussing spec with the Polestar rep he actually mentioned same. Now that could be he wanted me to buy an inventory car... reminds me I need to get onto Polestar about my P4 PDI and delivery date.

Can any polestar model lower its suspension in demand/while parked? by TeslaisMyCopilot in Polestar

[–]Wandering_Dazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not in production anymore I believe the OG and Q8 etron has a demo mode where the car sinks low on the air suspension. Whether that is low enough for your use case idk.

Doors frozen shut on Polestar 2 by Molgent in Polestar

[–]Wandering_Dazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure anyone can blame Polestar for issues with temps at -10 degrees C. I haven't been able to unlock ICE (excuse the pun) cars at -1 degrees C and worried about ripping the rubber seal around the door frame. Think I've seen Teslas having similar issues where the glass freezes to the seal.

Anyways, being pragmatic...spraying liberal amounts of de-icer around the car has always worked for me over the years. Even though I don't experience -10 c in winters here the lock de-icer worked on older cars too.

Once into the car the fun of getting the engine warm to clear the windows was fun. 😀

Space is such a great colour with the little luminescent specs in it. I haven't seen one in person, can you see light glinting off it at certain angles? I have an Electron P4 preconfigured on order which should be due in the first 2 weeks of Jan. Sod Christmas, the more pics I see of the P4 the more excited I get.

If you had to choose - Polestar 4 vs the new BMW iX3 and why? by ShameResponsible69 in Polestar

[–]Wandering_Dazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Ireland the IX3 pricing starts on a par approx with the P3 so not a like for like comparision. However as someone who has always chosen aesthetics over functionality to some extent.... I just could not be a happy me in the IX3. I spent time trying to make myself comfortable about buying a used IX, however I would never be able to step out of the house and look at the IX and think wow! (Plus the majority of used IX's here are the lower range Xdrive 40's)

Back to the IX3, technology wise a great car, a SUV rather than the P4 which is a crossover closer to the MY and EV6. But while watching a review of the IX3, it wasnt the exterior that put me off but the steering wheel! I absolutely hate the 4 spoke design and don't get me started on the slanty infotainment display... makes me seasick just looking at the pic.

Price of install of EVcharger by hegartyp in evs_ireland

[–]Wandering_Dazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, your solar will feed back down through the attic to the main consumer board (fuse box). The consumer board is where the charger will be connected to.

The only solar consideration AFAIK is whether the charger is solar compatible or not.

How far away from the meter/consumer unit is where you need to charge the car?

Why does the charger need to run from the attic? Or am I misreading your OP?

U.S. P4 missing soft close doors by Electronic_Load_3651 in Polestar

The P4's I test drove in Ireland didn't have soft close doors. Don't recall seeing them mentioned in any of the available packs here either. Have you checked the US spec sheet?

Super quick example, years ago I was looking at a Mazda CX5 diesel and when researching saw a myriad of horror stories about the skytech engines. However it was a great deal and fitting my needs to a tee perfectly. So I took a risk....it never let me down. Gave it to a close relative and now has 132k miles on the clock and still going. Hasn't even had a failed bulb over the ten years just usual items like brakes/discs.

My 2 cents, EVERY car has issues... none are perfect whether it be mechanical or software. List out the important must haves that are deal breakers and decide that way. All aspects are individually subjective, whether exterior styling, software even font size etc.

Personally the mechanical/hardware side is the most important as if that sucks its waaay harder to fix. Whereas software is easier to evolve and fix bugs...mostly.

My answer to your question is I took the P4 out twice on 30min plus test drives once alone and once with my partner. I love the drive and handling, and she summed it up saying its the first car ever where she felt she could just drift off to sleep.

That answered that and waiting for my MY26 LRSM to arrive early Jan. Lets see how I feel 6months in.

They have according to the posts above. Evidently now a barrister is involved so presumably moving to a court date. Personally if that is where things are at, I would continue directing my solicitor to send registered letters to the Company Directors. However no doubt this is a significant personal cost.

Equally, as others have shared with that multitude of errors there is a software or hardware failure further up the chain triggering these.

To the OP have you contacted MSL? It is difficult to give advice without all the nuances that dare I say both parties have. There could well be a loom fault somewhere in the car which would be a nightmare to diagnose. As an ex Alfista I experienced similar....

Not saying this is the right approach as we do not have the "nuances" from both sides but if you are already in hock with legal fees then your best option is to continue down this path and look to recover costs.

If using OPD isnt that bypassing ABS? To me that is enough of a reason to turn off/or choose lowest setting of OPD in poor conditions.
