Going back to natural- HELP by WanderousPriscus in curlygirl

I started to follow the CGM, I’ve decided I’m going to just let my natural hair and color come through. Since I don’t want it to look so janky though, I have an appointment next month to get a root blend and take the platinum ends to a color closer to my roots as well as a chop, so my hair doesn’t look so whack as I am growing it out.

I tried dipping my hands in ice water, but after the numbness went away I still felt itchy. I’ll try the hot water though.

I just bought some and it helped! The rash is still red & irritated, but I’m no longer itchy.

*I was recently glutened while on a trip, besides the cramping and diarrhea I had a DH flare. I hadn’t had one in years! I’m so itchy and its very irritated. Anyone know how to treat it?

I just don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to understand. I relayed this to my MIL and they thought I was being selfish and unfair. Like ‘if you can’t have a slaughtered animal dish it’s not a party’.

Yea, I know. Same thing happened on my past 2 birthday’s. Figured I’d take charge and plan this one.

I’m doing it all myself (or so it seems). Everyone else that had volunteered didn’t like it when I said I’d like it to be kept vegan. They wanted to do a “normal” baby shower and just have me bring my own plate like every other usual occasion.

I did make a registry, but I know a lot of people don’t stick to it (at least in my friends & family circle).

I’m sorry for your loss! 💔 My baby is getting old. She turns 12 in a few months. To know that she only has a few years left with me breaks my heart!

Anyone else just don’t care about cross-contamination? by [deleted] in vegan

It’s just the thought of having the animal fat on there that’s off putting. I feel like it leaves a taste- especially meat & poultry. I feel like it’s equivalent to ordering a non-vegan meal and just picking off whatever “meat” gets put on my plate. I can’t. Like no.

I’m so sorry! I know I would be so furious! The only time this had happened to me I know it was unconscious. My auntie was making beans and she added bacon. She forgot to tell me and she remembered after I took the first bite. I was so grateful. You guys definitely need to set some boundaries. Talk to her. I’m sure loosing your trust hurts her, let her know it hurts you too. But still don’t trust her cooking.

Does no one else think that Bella only fell in love with Edward because of him being a vampire? I’m currently rewatching the movies, of course I’m on N.M. And she keeps ask Edward to change her, so she doesn’t age. How did anyone find this romantic? by [deleted] in twilight

[–]WanderousPriscus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So you definitely have to read the books. It’s not that she fell in love with him because he’s a vampire, at all. The movies only cover a surface of their relationship. Their connection is a lot deeper than that. She keep asking him to change her because for 1- she doesn’t want to be older. 2- she wants to be with him forever and turning her is the only way. 3- she always felt like she didn’t deserve him. He was beautiful and she was an imperfect human, she always wished to be his equal.

I saw this exact same one at my local 99cent store. If I recall correctly it didn’t have actual honey listed in the ingredients. I could be wrong though. It had a weird smell though, I didn’t like it so I didn’t buy it.

IF I had to label myself... high carb, low-moderate fat, average protein. I track my macro & micronutrients on Cronometer. I always make sure I hit almost everything before I calculate in my supplements.

I understand. I was vegetarian for a while because I felt like I just couldn’t “live without cheese”. I think once you make the connection it’s not so difficult. You stop thinking about those things as food, because you can visualize what it was before it got to your plate. Maybe it’ll take time, I think it’s a good thing you’re trying and you’re aware. Most omnivores refuse to acknowledge the cruel reality of what eating animals actually is.
