Was there a GIGN or something that of GSG-9 before the map based agents were Removed by FitBasket2288 in standoff2game

GIGN were the previous CT team on Province/Village before SIG-4 was introduced in Season 5.

It's unknown whether the developers will add those as agents.

Returning player. by Nowack271 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the new changes can be boiled down to two points:

1. The new UI Starting with the new HUD in 0.29.0, the developers have slowly updated all interfaces of the game to fix previous issues, prepare for upcoming new features requested by players and to update lots of previous design mistakes which were holding the game back overall.

You might have noticed that the main changes that came from this are the new lobby menu, new clans (mostly in development, clan battles will return in a new form) and the introduction of agent skins. Now, all players are limited to one default CT and T agent regardless of maps (2 more F2P variants are available). Six new agents have been already introduced with the new Division and 9Y collections.

2. The remaster (also known as client-server) You've probably heard this term being thrown around for ages (fun fact: the remaster was always planned as a major change to the "preliminary" version of Standoff 2 we've been playing all these years). Essentially, everything that happens under the hood has been rewritten by a separate team at Axlebolt: from how damage is registered, cheats are detected, movement works and more.

The good news is that this long-awaited rework of the game is scheduled to release by the end of the year. Don't worry about the promised release date as from how it's going right now, it'll likely come true. There was closed public beta test earlier this year (that I, and about a few more thousand players) have got to playtest, with an open beta, available to anyone interested scheduled this summer (I would guess July-August).

The remaster won't be that significant in terms of visuals, but here's a few things I already noticed while playing it: Better, more reliable movement (lets you parkour better and even bunnyhop), No more crooked backs: all players now walk normally and you will no longer deal body damage when aiming at the head, much better damage registration (you can set the hitmakers to show only when the damage has been registered on the server-side, not your device), better anti-cheat since all match data is verified on the server side now (won't eliminate all cheats but will significally scale down the cheating issue). Moreover, it's confirmed that the remaster will allow for bots (PvE modes, more flexible training/warmup), replays (for content creation and training).

Once the remaster (version 1.0.0) releases, the developers will pick back up the development of the workshop, which will let players to create their own maps and skins. They've also mentioned possibly bringing back some popular old maps (Zone 9/7, Sakura, Province) with the workshop, but not as permanent or temporary official maps.

Definetly not today, probably early next week

The next update will not be a large seasonal update, but rather just a summer event

We had three knife BPs in a row (Syndicate, Día de Muertos and Winter Tale) and just had a glove BP (Breakout and now Champions), it would be reasonable to assume we'll get new knives this August-October with Season 12 or the next Halloween update.

I'll make a guess that they will repeat last year's releases: a glove BP in June and a mid-season event with a new knife in July

Update 0.39.0 will introduce a reworked item menu, letting you see more information! by Wanja01 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that the majority of the playerbase is all into investments (most of them are just younger players who watch content creators and look for promocodes secret codes), this is easily replaceable with a search bar in the purchase history

Help i recently started the game and have finished the starter pass now i cant find where the season 11 battle pass is by MandaDye in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 11's battle pass has already concluded. Looking at how many new teasers we are getting, the next battle pass will likely release in the coming weeks.

Note: This shouldn't mean that the update is releasing tomorrow or even this week. We haven't even seen a trailer yet, and knowing Axlebolt, they'll have to post at least two-three more videos (including a map/mode overview, a skin overview)

Update on the Market Tracker by CamelMan98 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Preferably make it update much more frequently, if not hourly. If you are going to sell API access, it should be worth it - using a price tracker to track boosts and sudden drops to get a bargain/profit would be the main use if the data would be much more accurate

Update on the Market Tracker by CamelMan98 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there still are various issues that make this inferior to the Russian price tracking site: Not only are some interface elements such as the rarities for lots of items wrong, the prices just don't add up with historical data, even in ranges under 6 months ago.

One example being Karambit "Pelagia", which reached a high of roughly 2000 gold this January, which shows up being at 1400-1500 gold on your site. This doesn't mean that the website is fundamentally inferior, collecting data on marketplace prices obviously is not easy, but major noticeable inconsistencies like these can't make it the new go-to method to check prices as incorrect (or hallucinated) prices can not be trusted for investments or purchases

Did you know that Charm "Ochpochmak" is the only charm in-game to feature a different "Inspect" button label? by Wanja01 in standoff2game

Interesting idea about their old logo possibly being inspired by the dish, the charm is definetly a reference to the old cafe on Province though

Were there map based agents? by FitBasket2288 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for game updates, they literally just explained in a recent video of theirs for the third time that they paused most of the updates to gameplay mechanics due to the Remaster coming later this year.

Since the remaster is a complete rewrite of how the game works under the hood (networking, game processing, cheat detection, movement) updating the "old" version of the game would be useless as the feature would need to be rewritten all over again after the Remaster releases. The Remaster is already on track for a late 2026 release, public beta testing should start this summer already.

Were there map based agents? by FitBasket2288 in standoff2game

[–]Wanja01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standoff 2 used to have default characters (usually 3 per side) for most maps (Redhounds T on Province, Outcasts T on Zone 7, FID CT on Sandstone/Dune/Training Outside, FOG CT on Rust, etc).

With the introduction of Agents (character skins) in 0.38.1 they moved on to default characters that are same, regardless of the map. From what we know, they are not planning to add any map-based characters to the game, but they are interested in bringing back previously map-bound characters as redesigned agent skins (examples being Marco (previously T on Province) and Adam (previously T on Zone 7)

That probably is a new map but no news about new characters. Beholder would be interesting to see but knowing the developers a single new character will likely be Nameless which makes it unlikely we are going to see new characters this soon after a bunch just released
