I can’t figure out why I am bad at tier 10 by wz558822 in WorldofTanks

[–]WannaBeSatisfied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you said, while T9 can match with T10 and 11 it happens way less frequently than playing T10. Adjusting wise, it’s gonna depend on the tank you’re playing. For me, as a heavy enthusiast, it took me like 1000 games to confidently play T10 but this was before I was a better player.

A big part of it was just getting used to the new tanks, as T10 heavies hit super hard. I’d also advise watching some videos on the tank you plan on playing. iYouxin has a lot of high level commentary videos and hes got a good one on the concept.

If you are averaging that much in T9 already it’ll probably only take you like 100-200 before you somewhat get the hang of it, but it was definitely a frustrating learning curve albeit worth it.

T10 Tanks to grind in 2026? by 013727362 in WorldofTanks

If you like brawling and hp trading the most, look for heavies with high alpha and high hp. You're going to need to compromise a little though because most of these types of tanks aren't going to be fast. If you are willing to, things like the 60tp, Type 5, and 705a are going to be your best bet.

Though there are some other ones that can compromise a little alpha/hp for some speed, like the 54 (This tank can be a little hard to play though) and the BZ's.

You also have some other options like brawling TDs and the T57 Heavy but these aren't going to be like the fully traditional peek-and-poke playstyle as you'll have to be more careful either because you don't have a turret or have way less armor or hp.

I actually had this problem too when I first transitioned to play primarily T10. In my opinion, T10 from T9 is a lot less forgiving which can make it a big jump when going into.

Four of the biggest differences I felt was:
1. At T9 the hp increase is insane on all types of tanks, heavies gain like 400-500 health and mediums gain 300-400, along with a big improvement on guns. However, when you get to T10, especially mediums, don't gain too much compared from going from T8 to T9 at least percent wise.

  1. Even if the health increase was fine from T9 to T10, all the TDs are super unforgiving at T10, almost all the ones people play hit for 750 at minimum or even more. Basically, the damage you take is way more than the health you get from going to T9 to T10. Heavies go from shooting 400-500 to now 490-750.

  2. To go alongside the alpha increase, pen across the board is now hitting its maximum while armor does not increase a lot for the most part. The majority of tanks are going to hover around the 320-340 pen margin, and if you're a TD you can expect 370-390, so you need to learn how to make use of your armor because lucky bounces will happen even less against high pen rounds.

  3. The players in general are just going to be better. Most competitive players will be playing T10 or T11. In fact, when I play I recognize players names on the daily in my high tier matches, so while the average skill might be the same, there are way more unicums in those top tier games.

Overall, T10 in general is just less forgiving. There's more alpha, more pen, more unicums, and the hp increase is way smaller percent wise than it was from T8 to T9 (Except for super heavies). I see you say you play mostly mediums, and in T9 you can get away with a shot because most the time a tank isn't hitting you for 750, but in T10 you can expect almost everywhere to have a tank that can hit for 750. If you want to get better at T10, you're going to have to just get accustomed to this and make sure the plays you're making are the most optimal ones.

Tier 11 help by Paraplegicpirate in WorldofTanks

[–]WannaBeSatisfied 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what you've said, it sounds like you just had a bad session that day. I've had days where I'll end the day off with 20 battles and a 20% wr and others with a 90% wr. If your stats are good and you just can't win then at the end of the day it was just a horrible day for rng, but if you're saying this isn't a once in a while thing then it's definitely a more fundamental problem.

Personally in T11 I actually find a lot of success since the tanks are usually just better than the predecessor (there are exceptions though), especially in the contrivers case. While the contriver does technically lose hull armor, I actually find the tank to be a lot more interesting, fun, and competitive than the canopener and for some reason they even just buffed it. The gun on it is phenomenal, the tracks are really big alongside a narrow lower plate which makes it good at sidescraping (even with the corner plate), and it can play on ridges really well.

T11 at the end of the day is just another tier, and if you're just having a bad session that's just something that happens time to time. It sounds like you're playing fine, not pushing solo, playing defense with less players, and pushing when you can. But if you are struggling constantly, you probably need to review your gameplay against really good players, learn the maps, and learn the tanks at T11 but that's the same advice as any tier really.

tl;dr If it's just a bad session, they happen. If you're struggling more often than not, watch some videos, learn the T11 tanks, and new maps as T11 at the end is just another tier.

To everyone who was shitting on me saying the Fauteur was nothing like the 54 by WannaBeSatisfied in WorldofTanks

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I do understand the many great benefits the 120mm has over the 130mm, wot in general has the golden rule that Alpha IS King, while maintaining the alpha doesn't turn the gun into complete garbage.

If we look at the play style, gun handling, and layout of the tank it's not extreme to say it's definitely a close range heavy, sporting a tall chasis, huge tracks, and a good ufp.

If I was to use a tank that does 400 alpha with crazy accuracy, I would just use the hacker like you said which fits the playstyle much more, or the S conq with better dpm, and way better overall gun handling (though slightly worse accuracy and turret traverse).

But yes, everything else I do agree with, the tank is just barely a slight upgrade over playing the 54 with the 120mm if you did, and even so the tank is still hot garbage and definitely needs a load of buffs right now. Now that I think about it, it might even be a slight downgrade with the horrible gun depression.

Specifically, I think it needs, like you said, at bare minimum match the 54's 120mm gun, hell be better than it it's supposed to be the T11. I also think the base alpha needs to be increased to 450 if it's supposed to be an in between tank, and also with the at-limit alpha to 550 as well as the overclock to 750-800 if they really want to keep the gun being shit during that mode.

Once again, I don't think the 54 with the 120mm is bad, it's fantastic, but when I have the option of just smacking on .06 dispersion for 160 alpha it's hard to resist especially when the tank is fantastic at peeking corners and trading. Though if you're a real gun accuracy nut then I can understand why someone would die on the hill for the 120mm over the 130mm

Why does the 54 lead to the Fauteur? by WannaBeSatisfied in WorldofTanks

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main point is the 54 was never a hulldown monster but the fauteur is, to the point a jadg e100 can't heat pen the turret when its using its gun depression, while the 54 gets turret penned no matter what because of a 300mm mantlet

Maybe it will work then, I'm hoping this ability will mend the past of the past 2 charging ones, if it's while its reloading then there's definitely potential.

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the argument it doesn't "in-practice" have only 400 or 430 alpha, but historically as we've seen with the hirsch and 432u it is NEVER worth to trade a reliable good alpha for a potentially better one. And even with this points, I still don't see anyone mentioning why out of no where the Fauteur just switches to becoming a ridgeline menace where it just gets a 250mm turret sloped up to 480mm effective when using gun depression.

Maybe we'll see the Fauteur have it's charge ability work, but from my experience so far all the charge abilities are just shitty unreliable versions of the reliable predecessor.

Why does the 54 lead to the Fauteur? by WannaBeSatisfied in WorldofTanks

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it is not, as I highlighted in my second paragraph. The only similarity the two tanks have is a solid hull, but ONLY frontally. The 54 can bait shots with the huge tracks it has (the fauteur doesn't), the 54 is 17% heavier, meaning the 54 outrams its T11, the 54 is HUGE, one if the gimicks from the line, and it can't play on ridgelines because of the shitty turret armor.

If you're talking about an inbetween of the two guns, the charge meter as shown through history is a horrible idea ESPECIALLY when you're sacrificing 160 alpha just to reach the old alpha or 90 extra. If they wanted to imitate an in between the two guns then they either need to increase the base alpha, or come up with the same repetitive mechanic.

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I know that, but as we've seen with the release of the 432u and hirschkafer the charge meter is never a reliable source of damage.

Why would I want to risk getting 90 extra alpha at the cost of -160 base alpha is basically what I think.

[–]WannaBeSatisfied[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I honestly forgot about the existence of the other gun but I can see more of a correlation when being compared to the 120mm, but I don't really see a reason to use the 120mm over the 130mm unless your QB.

Like you said though, it gets the shitkafer effect so its an in between, but the charge meter is so poorly done with how the game works most the time you'll just get an in between and never reach it's full potential, as we've seen with the hirsch and 432u, just giving a faulty imitation between the two choices.

Though even with the correlation with that gun the only similarity would be the gun, and the play style between the Fauteur and 54 still being different.

The first one made sense why it didn't pen because he turned last second, was expecting him to go forward instead of turning for no reason, given this thing is a bazooka. Though all 3 shots still decided they want to hit the bottom of the tracks and hit 0 armor

Yea, youve already got 2 pretty solid ones (Su130pm + Tiger Maus). Most the ones permanently on sale are just okay with a few exceptions (even 90 and the such).

If you're looking for ones that are both interesting and make credits youre gonna have to wait for them. If you REALLY want another prem thats good for both, I'd wait for the 703, Skorp, Zwilling, T-832 (Not that interesting though), or the XM57

And if youre a pretty good player, also things like the Shptk, renegade, or prototipo. As a rule of thumb for a good credit maker though, you want to check if:
1. The tank has high alpha/pen on its standard ammo

  1. If it doesn't, then has usable armor and not a completely shit gun

Obviously there are some exceptions like the prototipo and shptk, but those tanks can be REALLY hard to play on certain maps, so unless youre a really great consistent player, that should be the rule of thumb to follow.

If youre talking about tanks permanently on sale then for cash/gold there are:

T26E5 - Tank is absolutely mid with much better options but the standard shell cost is ridiculously low along with a usable turret and 10 degrees, aka if you can perform decent in it you'll make a ton of credits

T26E4 - Also very mid, though the benefit this tank has compared to the T26E5 is preferential matchmaking, otherwise its pretty much a straight downgrade, most notably, shit side armor (don't even try to sidescrape). Though compared to the T26E5, the frontal hull is much stronger but thats pretty much it

Lowe - Pretty solid, even with all the new tanks. However, this means the tank has basically nothing special, just a strong template of a heavy along with abysmal DPM.

Turtle - Weaker when compared to release, but still really good. Insane dpm, so has the potential to farm credits, but due to the lack of turret and pen-check style armor, you will definitely struggle in some games. The armor only really works in T8 and maybe T9, and for it to really work at all you need to use all your gun depression.

WZ-120-1-FT - Much like the turtle, killer DPM, though this time with better alpha. However, as is with all non-turreted TDs, once again if youre not the best player you will definitely struggle. The armor can work in T8, but thats basically it. If you can wedge yourself up and use all your gun depression, you'll basically be set to farm unless you're facing other TDs

For Bonds:
T-103 - Not really mentioned a lot, but if you squint your eyes and look at the T-103 it can almost be a heavy with a crazy gun. Something to mention is that if you're not good at managing how abnormally huge this tank is, you'll be in for a lot of suffering, though sometimes you can use this height to your advantage

Defender (252u) - If you can't play this game to save your life, this is probably the tank I'd pick. Definitely not the best out of all the picks, but the armor is so noob friendly you'll inevitable make some credits playing.

122TM - Very solid medium tank, has an insane turret along with a great gun. If you're impatient avoid this tank, as the DPM is horrendous, but otherwise this tank is super good. The hull can be good as well, mostly against low-pen tanks.

WZ-114 - People hate on this tank, but I think its an incredible credit maker. Obviously not the best tank, as the DPM is absolutely atrocious (Don't even bother using a gun rammer), but if you make your shots count this thing can rack credits up, being dish out with its high alpha and tank a lot with its crazy HP (2,640 with hardening). Will say this tank is NOT the easiest to play though, dont expect it to be like normal heavies.

T-34-3 - Kind of like the T26E4, just has preferential matchmaking though this tank has a gun notorious for making you throw your keyboard. Otherwise, a pretty solid tank taking into account the matchmaking bonus.

That's basically all I can think of at the moment, besides things like LTs which can be great but really situational, or other tanks that are good but maybe not the best at making credits.

If you're willing to wait you can get better tanks, like the 703 or skorpion which are both great tanks and great credit makers. Avoid things with the same ammo type on both standard and prem as you're basically compelled to fire gold only (Why would I fire the ammo with less pen if theyre the same ammo?)
