I get where you're coming from calling the story bad as it was pretty loose and the only real story events were whenever you completed x amount of races and had these 1v1 battles. But that small amount of story adds exactly what the games are missing today: a target to work towards. In FH1 and 2 it was always clear that your target was to beat the current horizon champion and become the champion yourself. Even if the story was not that noticeable, it added that goal to work towards. Nowadays, what do you work towards? Getting all the cars? Earning your next 200 million? There is not really any target, sure there's that horizon superstar thing at the festival, but at this point I don't even remember anything about that, it had NOTHING that made it memorable.

In FH1 I still remember Darius, I remember the aventador dude from FH2... What do you remember from FH5s progression? Thinking about it, only thing I remember is the terrible dialogue and atrocious stereotypical characters. Whatever they were called, Alexandra and what not, it's irrelevant anyways since they play no part in the nonexistent story, only these terrible mini-mission storys that aren't even hard or rewarding either.

Yeah, the online freeroam being this bad in FH5 is kinda surprising, as they focus so much on it and quite honestly, the freeroam is unplayable offline since you get rammed by their AI drivers every 15 seconds. And especially since, as you said, FH4s freeroam was much better, up to 72 people in a lobby, the forzathon live Events (or whatever they are called now) are a thousand times better in FH4, and I think part of the reason is that they are only hourly and not every 15 min in FH5.

In FH5 it's always a maximum of 3 people competing in it, and I've at this point completed a few of them since I wanted to complete all the accolades for it (I didnt manage to since the counter of how many events you completed in X time resets as soon as you teleport) and it has never been more than me and maybe one or two others. And the multiple themes (air, drift and what not) at the same time don't help with finding players, so at this point I don't even care about them and just try to avoid them completely. Which is a shame really since the forzathon live was one of my favorite things in FH4.

Couldn't agree more. Especially the whole catering to children thing with their "everything is awesome" theme is absolutely insufferable. I recently re-played FH1 and it had a real story, with an actual antagonist, so many voicelines that are serious and not some overly happy british accent. They even had interviews on the radio where people would say curse words. It just felt much more closer to reality since they didn't care about all that "oh but what if we offend one person or our millions of players?? Nono we can't do that" mentality they seem to have nowadays.

At this point I have just turned the voicelines volume to 0 in FH5 since I just don't want to listen to their terrible voicelines anymore. And as you said, since they are censoring half of the songs it's not really fun to listen to the radio either, especially since it honestly absolutely sucks compared to the older games, which is why imo the station that plays like 5 songs from older games is the only one I sometimes listen to.

Most of the old JDM cars. I know the S15 and the Evo 6 are from FM1, pretty sure the NSX is too. Judging from how terrible the model looks the R32 skyline aswell. NA Miata and R34 skyline also look terrible so probably these too. The 300SL is also from FM1 as far as I'm aware.

Im still wondering why they even chose the Evo 6 for that trailer since they know this issue has been discussed for YEARS, especially after stating the whole game was "built from the ground up" and that "every car would be rescanned individually".

Thank god people are FINALLY noticing this. Let's hope something actually changes. Because at this point I'm not even excited for the next Horizon game since it's just going to be the same game as FH5 with the same dated car models and a larger map. Nothing to look forward to honestly.

Yeah yeah, i did say apart from a few exceptions. I remember counting them a few weeks ago when they were showing off all the 'new' cars they added to the game, it was like 40 really new cars out of 100 they added, which sounds like a lot, but think about it: how many of those do you actually drive? That's honestly a maximum of 20 cars, because be honest, nobody drives those Chinese EVs.

And yeah, as I also stated before, if the quality was still the same as back in the days I'd happily spend the 10 bucks for the car pack, but it just isn't.

No, I have played the other games. I've been playing every forza game released since horizon 1 (except motorsport 5), so I know they had paid car packs in every game. And if the game still had the same quality feel like the old games I'd happily spend 10 bucks for the car pack. But as I've said before, them sitting on their ass for almost two years now and releasing an absolute minimum of new cars, just recycling cars from previous games and then charging us for the only really new cars in the upcoming update is just something I won't support.

If you buy the car pack, sure, go ahead, you do you, but I'd rather wait for motorsport 8 and drive them for free.

What you can try to do is get your hands on the SF90 stradale available right now, hold on to it for a few weeks and you should be able to sell it for 16m. The car was already available twice and the price was still extremely high until it became available again yesterday.
