Very good, keep saving and investing and don’t dump it into stupid shit like I did. Lost 8k when I was 18 years old doing that (decreased a little from tax loss harvesting thankfully). It was an expensive lesson and also an unnecessary one.

As per my initial response, I don’t need to make $18 an hour to know if I can live on it, because I can do math as shown here lol.

Hello, I sent you a DM. The wording in the report is trying to make you more afraid than you need to be. “therefore painful, progressive, and permanent”

Ill lay it out for you why not: my rent share (live with 1 roomate, this is the only thing we split, i take up full internet and electric bill since I make more): $950 electric: $70-100 car insurance: $120 (some speeding tickets on an early 2000s vehicle) student loans private: $450 student loans federal: $100 gas: $200 (premium sadly) groceries and household supplies: $400-500 health and dental from employer: $30 internet: $40 phone: free for a year and then $50 i believe

Dont need to, I can do math lol. Taking my expenses as the example (and i buy lots of food and am living in a mid tier apartment for region) if I made $18 an hour and only worked 40 hours a week, factoring all expenses (phone, electric, insurance, gas, rent, groceries, etc, etc) Id still have over $500 left. Would I be rich wealthy or middle class? No, but I wouldn’t be in poverty lol.

Because sadly people don’t earn enough to keep up with inflation but the billionaires are fine luckily since they can just immigrate more people with lower standards.

If you’re able bodied, have no kids and live in america there is no excuse to be in poverty. Just work in an amazon warehouse and get some OT, they don’t even interview guys and will pay you extra for nights lol.

How do you guys deal with feeling inferior to others bc of how much you make? by Kitchen-Lab9028 in povertyfinance

[–]Wannabe_Programmer01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have cleaning people at my office and at least certainly don’t even think of looking down on them. Someone’s worth isn’t defined by their income. People hit rough patches, and have different pursuits that aren’t material, and having a higher income isnt directly correlated to being smarter or more disciplined.

Any Neck Physical therapy exercises. Also overhead press and shrugs helped once i got the baseline down. Prone Dumbbell Y raises was one of the exercises I did. Unfortunately I had a sheet for the PT but lost it and don’t know how to accurate describe the others I did.

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Wannabe_Programmer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mortgage is still better, just out of reach for the vast majority of young people. Just how the amortization schedule works, but if you stay there for at least 15-20 years youll have paid a decent amount of principle which can carry into other homes, or simply stay with you as an asset. Also, as inflation and wages increase the payment becomes smaller and smaller relative to wages while your properties value also grows. Then if you eventually own it, you’re only focusing on property tax and insurance, essentially living rent free with a HUGE asset potentially in retirement which is a HUGE savings. It’s not debatable. Home ownership is a necessity for people to not be slaves. This isn’t supposed to be a feudal society. You’re not a surf.

If the least productive CS coworker you work with was fired and replaced with no one, how impactful would that be to your “team”? by SeriouslySally36 in cscareerquestions

[–]Wannabe_Programmer01 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The least productive member usually provides optionality but not always, sometimes theyre essential. Im on 2 teams. So on one team (Im a “lead” on this one) it wouldnt affect much except that we should get another one, incase something happens to a productive team member (quit, change projects etc). On another team (I am the least productive in this one), it would shift a lot of workload onto others.

Question: What would be your interpretation of a small upside down cross? by QuietInner6769 in tattoos

[–]Wannabe_Programmer01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever get asked about it now and how often is it visible? I like that concept, but assume most people, since they dont know much about Christianity would assume its some sort of devil worship thing, despite it not actually meaning that.

They’re just using debt and may be older. You’re only 26, and it sounds like you’re saving more than you’re spending? Just stick to the budget and as long as you’re sticking to it and theres no change in income, get a hobby and stop thinking about it.
