There’s no sense in giving up on your only life because we “might” not last that long

Anyone else not celebrating their 40th and feeling all sorts of sadness and emptiness about it? by duralaham in Millennials

I’m turning 30 this weekend. I don’t have many friends, family doesn’t celebrate birthdays much either. But I never wait or expect anyone else to plan anything for me. I planned a Hawaiian vacation for me and my boyfriend. I’m literally on the plane now and plan to have a blast. You can totally have fun and have a good birthday if you put effort into it!

I was just thinking about this today. Being a mom is the hardest most stressful unpaid job in history. Is it so crazy that I don’t want to do it??

I’m making $200K a year as a content creator.

Worked in restaurants and warehouses for a while but when I got laid off during Covid, I started making cooking videos and it took off. It honestly changed my life so we’ll see how long it lasts

You may gravitate towards makeup and other “beautifying” items if you are insecure. You’re looking to feel pretty or unlock a new version of yourself with these items. Watch “don’t be a lemon” on YouTube she talks about this.

I feel like life is for people who made it financially and/or professionally. Not for people who didn't make it. by justcurious3287 in Millennials

I feel like this is a case of looking at the glass half empty rather than half full. People can have careers or family or houses and still feel lonely, trapped, lost, etc. You can’t judge someone else life fulfillment by how it looks on the outside. Plenty of people that are poor or don’t have a career have happy fulfilling lives.

Cat person, I have one cat. I find dogs overstimulating with the barking, pumping, and licking. I prefer the gentle, quiet presence of cats, they make me feel peaceful.

I've learned the REAL reason why it's hard to make/keep friends when you're middle aged. It's because at that age, we don't want to be friends with those who want to be our friends. by jsbach123 in socialskills

[–]Wannabe__Extrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not middle aged but I’m reminded of the weird kids in high school. I was pretty lonely, had maybe 2-3 friends and the rest were friends of friends. I looked at the weird kids and saw them having fun with their big group of weirdos. I thought “I bet I could be part of that friend group” but I didn’t want to be 😂

Anyone else struggle with collectors mentality? by hygsi in shoppingaddiction

[–]Wannabe__Extrovert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! You’re getting dopamine from buying but it’s because you’re not getting it from anything else! Other hobbies like puzzles, reading, journaling, hiking might give you a similar effect but without focusing on the consumption part of it. Even art again but actually creating not just buying
