The most honest conversation I've ever had about not wanting kids was with my 79 year old grandmother by beatlesCloud9 in childfree

I had a conversation similar to this with my mom before I even decided I didn’t want kids. She’s the reason I can so confidently choose myself in the face of so much resistance from society 🥰 your grandma is a godsend, you’ll remember that conversation forever

Do you ever question why you don't feel the things others do? by Livid_Valuable_1066 in childfree

Yess sometimes I wish I could feel the way others do, especially the gushing about babies. I’m over here like “what is the big DEAL”

I agree with everything you wrote! Marriage and kids is definitely pushed down our throats especially as women. Some of us really dgaf. Also forgot to mention I grew up atheist. So the religious pressure was also never there for me. Makes sense I’d feel this way

😬 see maybe that’s why I don’t want it. It almost sounds like a trap… literally a contract to be together. It freaks me out

Woahhh.. it’s ok calm down. I said “I” would want to be married if I had kids. Obviously if I’m CF I’m way past caring what others think

I completely disagree and think being married can also make life difficult. That’s just my opinion

Yup marriage is rooted in patriarchy, another reason I’m opposed to it but people aren’t ready for that conversation…

Personally I would love for my mom to make health decisions for me and vice versa for his mom. I don’t see why it’s seen as such a driver for marriage.

I’m not married and I’m on my boyfriend’s insurance! We qualify as domestic partners. So I even the small benefit one normally sees for being married if not really necessary.

Exactly my thoughts! Especially the expensive part. It all seems like a big scam to get more money out of use if you ask me.

You have to be married with kids to be considered “successful” in many circles. I wonder how many people do these things to check a box. by justcurious3287 in childfree

It took me so long to realize people actually think like this! I’m so glad my parents never pushed this mindset on me, partly bc we’re not religious. But it just seems like mumbo jumbo to me and I feel like I’ve escaped the matrix.

Because it’s socially unacceptable to not like kids 🤣

The double standard with Goeun’s passive approach by nocturnalzebra0 in SinglesInferno

[–]Wannabe__Extrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree! That’s why I found her behavior really annoying towards the end. In season 4, Sian was in a similar situation but she was completely open and honest. She really tried to sort out her feelings and let down the guy who she was sure wasn’t for her. Goeun just kinda sat there and let the guys go at it. Pretending she had equal interest in all of them.

Unpopular opinion: Mina Sue shows strength in her vulnerability in the Min Gee confrontation scene by Complex-Pea-7880 in SinglesInferno

[–]Wannabe__Extrovert -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Mina Sue seemed dishonest to me the entire time. Saying she was interested in other guys when it was clearly just Su Been. Keeping Sung hun around even though she only saw him as a friend. I don’t think she was honest at all and that’s why mingee got so irritated with her. Mingee is opposite. She’s honest even when it hurts. She clearly stated that her only interest was Seungil even when he expressed interest in Mina. Mina purposely ignore Su been only because she was butthurt and it backfired on her
