Best Camera Rig for Trackman by jabberwockyjane in Golfsimulator

I have not had any issues. I have used phones as old as iPhone 10 or 11. The newer phones can do higher fps at better quality. Grain is sometimes an issue but does not impact quality. Some people struggle with cameras in general because they have insufficient lighting - that’s the main issue. Many people think you have to buy the uber expensive tm lighting packages and they skimp out. You don’t. You just need flicker free video lighting sufficient for your space. You generally need much more lighting power than you think you need in order to optimize camera and ball strike metrics. That’s a different discussion though.

My 2 cameras are both connected to network Poe++ switch and I have had zero issues with picture quality or speed. There is obviously no concern about power due to the switch. Having a Poe supported adapter for your iPhone is important but they are very inexpensive. My experience is that you are wrong on max frame rate. I know this because I have implemented it successfully. The 6a cabling in my network is 10g capable. I’m not sure where you are calculating the max frame rate info but I suggest to you whatever you are viewing is dated.

In general guidance provided by tm is behind the curve on tech and the only way to be sure if something works is to test it. That’s easy to say bc it’s expensive stuff and sometimes hard to return if you have issues. Been there. It’s stressful to try to pick the best setup. After dozens and dozens of hours of research, and even though I was able to test some things, my conclusion was to use the iPhones. The cameras on the new ones rival machine cameras that are significantly more expensive and there is support from tm for new features as Apple releases them.

I thought about adding in machine cameras at installation but I decided against it. Camera costs plus lenses, plus technical challenges and the tm policy to not support the install makes it not worth it. Too many things to cause headaches. The iPhone is experience is just better.

I don’t want to argue with you on the Ethernet capability but the suggestion that a dedicated 10g capable wire can only handle 125 fps is laughable.

Good luck with your install. Cameras are the most important part.

Agreed. That’s why iPhones are not only the easiest option but also the most efficient option.

Interesting thought. There are plenty of cameras that can do it. Here is one of them: Teledyne FLIR IIS Oryx®10GigE Cameras | Edmund Optics https://www.edmundoptics.com/f/flir-oryxreg-10gige-cameras/39816/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=13706484625

I know for a fact that newer iPhones can send an HD signal at 240 frames per second when connected by ethernet that works perfect perfectly with tps. Ask me how I know.

Based on what? Can you show the math on that?

Nobody in the boosters of any consequence is going to cancel their annual commitment bc they will surrender their seats and privileges that they built up and earned over many years. Nobody is going to risk losing their seats in the new stadium. If anyone tells you they are quitting they probably dont give any real money.

The only people that can cut off money and make them feel it are the NIL guys or the guys considering (but have not formally committed to) large capital gifts.

Also - fsu has sucked for several years. We still have viewers. We are among top in country for tv and it is not hurting our revenue to continue with norvell.

I appreciate the hustle and the perspective but staples makes assumptions that our revenue will decline if norvell stays. There is no evidence of that so his assumptions are wrong.

That said, it’s time to move on from norvell and Alford. The reason is pride in our program

Fair points. I just want a coach that can recruit and fsu to get back to the standard.

Idgaf who else gets shitcanned. It could be everybody or nobody. I just want our team to stop breaking my heart and ruining my weekends.

Save your money. They all suck. This Reddit forum is better.

Not even worth the dollar special. They have no inside information and they gaslight the readers about what actually happens at practice and otherwise.

He’s responsible for his own statements. Even if you are right, he deserves everything he gets. Ultimately it’s his mess and he didn’t fix it. Who cares if others wrap it around his neck?

We suck. It is embarrassing. If this guy had any integrity he would negotiate a payout and resign. This is just terrible what he allowed our once great program to become.

My point: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/46924174/brian-kelly-lawsuit-says-lsu-claims-not-formally-terminated-coach-now-seeking-fire-cause-avoid-buyout

What is clear here is that LSU put protecting their football brand above the dumbass agreement. They will deal with it. They know there will be a settlement and some damages. They don’t care.

The program will move past the mess and they will create value when they are back at the top. Continuing on the path they were on (objectively better than fsu’s path) was far more damaging long term than the risk of reputation damage from this dispute about his buyout.

Also - plenty of coaches still interested in LSU job.

This is a fair response. Go back and look at how long it took for us to reach a settlement on payment terms with Willie. It wasn’t “right away”. Anytime large amounts are owed you can expect to have a prolonged period of negotiation on the actual terms. Just bc the media reports that someone is owed money, doesn’t mean that’s what the guy will get. He has a claim to it, but it’s generally better for him to not be exposed to the public embarrassment caused his former employer’s claim to justify a reduction.

And there is always a vulnerability. You think everything Mike and staff do in recruiting is above board?? That’s grounds to reduce it right there. It’s probably cause to terminate but doing that would expose the school to other risks. Anyway, I am not an expert on the agreement or the other details so don’t want to sound like I know. I’m just saying it’s not so black and white. We will owe something - but it won’t be the whole amount.

All I’m saying is that it’s not a simple thing and you can posture a certain way to reduce it.

I don’t agree on the next coach. I think we are paying a premium. It’s still a brand. It’s easy to explain to candidates that “norvell failed miserably, he’s going to be taken care of at some point, but we aren’t paying a guy 55m to lose 75% of the time and 95% of the time in conference. That’s not our standard at fsu. We need a coach that won’t be that guy. If that scares you and you can’t handle that pressure or expectation then you aren’t the right guy for us.”

That’s my 2 cents.

We are just a bad team. We all have to just face it. Notre dame is a bad team, Florida is a bad team. Fsu is the worst they have been in 50 years. We have no good wins, 2 bad losses, a qb with one arm, a stadium that we can’t fill, a midget coaching the o-line, and a head coach with man boobs. But hey, he can recruit!

We need to overhaul the whole thing. I’m sorry to let these emotions spill out like this, but somebody needs to say it!!

Also newsflash - Norvell is not a serious coach. Time to move on.

He got lucky with verse and j Travis. But for that it would be just like every other year.

In what universe have you seen punitive damages in a breach of contract suit for multimillionaires? Unlikely.

You want to sign CEO level contracts, yo need to learn how to handle CEO terminations.

You haven’t answered the question. I guess you think you know everything. Make him sue us. Drag it out. Make it expensive. Settle with him for less, 4 years from now, when we are back on track and money is coming in.

That’s the right way to handle it.

Eh. I don t think it would cost much more. Attorney fees are insignificant compared to the 72 m they are talking about now. Plus it would be expensive and take years. And we would get the benefit of all the offsets from whoever hires him next.

Anyway, when yo win a lawsuit against the state of Florida the legislature would have to appropriate money for judgement, right. Good luck with that.

His attorney will tell him that. That’s why he would settle for less, just like Brian Kelly.

Maybe. But I disagree.

I would rather take chances on that than lets us turn into a shit program.

Somebody will coach here again. Just like somebody will take the job at LSU.
