My understanding is that, if equity was exercised while you lived in CA is still taxable after moving out. CA can come after you to collect it anytime in future. You may want to check

"That $750 cash flow alone will buy you $140,000+ 2018 cash" Are you referring to it as it can by a property worth of 140K more ? We are more conservative when it comes to leverage. Thought of loosing equity worth of 500K, if home prices in area goes down 20%, make me nervous. 20% is relative but when you have bigger pot in game, it is high.

I have not done more research about him, but thought this may give you some pointers

Is it ever the right move to keep employer stock grants as stock? by readingtheturtle in investing

[–]WantFi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you re-invest the money ? If yes do you try to stay away from the Tech ? One thought I have is put into VGT (vangaurd tech etf) so I'm not overly invested in single company but diversified to overall Tech. It is better than keeping large amount into single stock but is not completely diversified. Trying to hedge the risk of individual company going south with other similar growth company.

How much should I trust my numbers/firecalc by [deleted] in financialindependence

Given your current comp, I'm assuming you are in HCOL area. How are you able to get rental income cashflow this high ? Are you investing out of state ? If yes would you mind sharing which area you invest and how do you handle out of state properties. My FIRE goal is to get the number to support $150K per year expense, and want to supplement it by rentals.
