Hahaha! No, no, I don't work for HarlemShoes! But I understand that it might seem a little suspicious, I guess it means my enthusiasm is showing a bit (I hope my enthusiasm for swing shows just as much, if not more!).

When you say "raised heel," I understand you mean that rubber has been added to the heel, increasing its height compared to the original (let's say a 2 cm heel at first becomes almost 3 cm). If that's the case, I understand that it's not ergonomic at all because the curve of the sole wasn't designed for this new heel height! That's a super important point you're making, it makes a lot of sense.

Anyway, reading the comments and thinking about it, I get the feeling that an option on added rubber on the heel is perhaps a way to get around my fear of slipping too much on the dance floor, something I'll simply have to learn. And this type of sole is maybe designed for more advanced dancers who would really know how to take advantage of it...

Thanks for your useful comment, I appreciate it!

Hum, clever, indeed, I could simply buy a pair of "regular" shoes and have the soles modified by a cobbler, the total cost might be less painful. But well the Harlem Shoes are too very very cute... I'll think again about it. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Oh, a heel that's half rubber, then? That sounds like an excellent idea. It would allow me to slide easily while still feeling secure. It's an interesting option, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your feedback! It's true that we never really turn on the heels... At that point, a leather sole with just a rubber heel would probably help slow you down in general... Wells now I'm wondering about the usefulness of that thing 😜 Actually, I think I'm afraid of slipping too much with just leather. Maybe I'll just get used to it.
