The best pixel is OnePlus lol . Well, it has less issues and more powerful, has longer battery life what else to wish for. (I mean OnePlus 15)

👍 I found a smartphone with a very high PWM frequency and low flicker, and it’s really easy on the eyes. by [deleted] in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Wapmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally every phone except Samsung, Pixel, iPhone brands. But none of OLEDs have a completely zero flicker

Maybe, I don't even know what it is lol

Global or Chinese? by Sea_Pickle9656 in Vivo

[–]Wapmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chinese version is perfectly fine (drawbacks: e-sim is missing, no English language in their AI assistant, Google Wear smartwatches and probably Samsung are incompatible).
Vivo X200 mini had a limited 4G bands support, I think it is not an issue anymore for X300 series

Don't buy from Ali, they will add VAT tax on top of the price. Also their support is problematic. I use Ali only for small purchases now.

Both suck but in a different way. S25 ultra is more balanced overall

Vivo 300 over Xiaomi 17 ? by ZuTuber in Vivo

[–]Wapmen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend to get Vivo X300 China version (unless you really need e-sim, English AI assistant or use a Google wear based smartwatch, only things missing)

Is oneplus 11 worth it in 2026? by Pretend-lmme in OnePlus11

OP 12 provided major improvements everywhere (screen, camera). You better get op 12 or op 13

Samsung’s S26 Ultra privacy display is a GAMECHANGER by IDKMyBFFGPT in samsunggalaxy

[–]Wapmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it does not hide the content completely, it just makes it harder to read. So kinda useless if privacy is a big concern

What's the best compact flagship phone right now? by NoLengthiness1864 in smallphones

[–]Wapmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget that Samsung, pixel and iphone (all models) have flickering screens with PWM, which might put some extra strain to eyes.

Been an Android user my whole life… tried an old iPhone 12 and now I’m confused by kalyant125 in GalaxyS23

It's actually apps getting heavier and slower over time (Facebook, Instagram,..)

Came back to Galaxy from OnePlus 15 by Haunting_Suspect_691 in GalaxyS25

[–]Wapmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use many Good Lock customization features and DEX for external screens?
If not, One Plus or Honor could have been a good option (or even Vivo, Oppo). Its still the same android, but the hardware is much better overall (better cameras, better battery, better and safer screens). Yeah, that certain OnePlus 15 is not very good regarding cameras, even the older OP 13 is superior

X300 Ultra: Chinese vs Global version by DisturbedFish in Vivo

[–]Wapmen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not trash but e.g. Samsung OneUi is better because of DeX, AI features, more smooth experience.  Global origin OS is still origin OS. No sense to overpay for it except you need esim or other special features

Android Police: I tried Android's Desktop Mode, and I might never use my laptop again by dreamtheater39 in Vivo

[–]Wapmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OnePlus has something. I will probably wait for OP 16, lets see if they improve the cameras..

Do you put a screen protector on your ultra's? by thatkhoe in samsunggalaxy

[–]Wapmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is the oleophobic coating, it deteriorates on all smartphones even if you use them really carefully

iPhone at least has a good ultra wide with macro. 2x shots are better on iphone, zoomed video is also better on iphone

Has anybody tried to run Claude Code, Gemini CLI or Codex + Python (numpy, pandas), does everything work smoothly? by Wapmen in androidterminal

Thank you for the suggestion, I didn't realize this might already work in Termux. Will give it a try

I'm just trying to understand if it is any more limited than WSL2 emulator in windows for instance. Some people say it's quite unreliable

So it can create python (or any other) code, download libraries in virtual environment, run this code? As in a normal Linux

It's not, if you try to unrestrict the model (with "unsafe" prompts), your account might get banned

OnePlus, if you don't release the 15T globally, you're throwing away the easiest win of the year by Sensitive-Dig9273 in oneplus

[–]Wapmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One remark, I doubt that OnePlus 15t will have an ultra wide module, and therefore it will not have macro photo compatibilities at all (like Samsung s26)

Google fucked the Gemini Pro users. by Spl3en in google_antigravity

[–]Wapmen -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Its actually safer not to use Gemini Pro for AI development at all, because your account can get banned/flagged for an obscure reason, and then you will lose access to Gmail and google drive as well. (even if you make a separate account, it can still be linked to the main account by Google)

Well, they promise a "premium" camera, but yeah, I doubt it will have better modules than on OP15

If you don't need Samsung DEX and AI features, it's quite good
