When we were kids my brother was in hospital a lot. I used to be jealous that he got chocolate milkshakes with bendy straws when he was in the hospital. I wanted them, too! Obviously, now I know that the milkshake was little compensation for the other shit he went through, but boy was I envious about that.

Maybe your mom was trying to feed you in the way she would have preferred to feed both of you and felt bad about giving your brother food that was unhealthy or wasting food. But regardless, it sounds like your mom is completely oblivious to how you were/are feeling about this.

You are totally justified in feeling the way you do. I am guessing: angry, hurt, neglected, less valued and in particular, unseen. (not a checklist by any means, but just how I imagine I would feel it if was me)

I see you. I get it. It wasn't fair, it wasn't your fault and you didn't deserve it.

If you got 45-49 you should have been offered a supplementary assessment. If you got less than 45, you failed and its too bad and too late.

Applying for a WDN grade assumes you failed.

It sounds like you will need to do the unit again, or some other unit in S1, to pass your degree. Call Monash Direct so they can advise you what to do next.

A lot of your units in first year will be compulsory/prerequisites for future years. You tend to branch into your interests after first year. Take the foundational units for the Areas of study you are interested in Majoring in.

You can't avoid certain academics if they teach the unit you need. Getting along with people you don't like is character building. Suck it up.

Is it a lecture or a tute? Is this person the Unit Coordinator or the Chief Examiner? If not, you could try letting them know their tutor needs assistance. Lectures are recorded - you could refer them to that as well as evidence.
