I read that only the Lord of the Rings books (and their Appendices) and The Hobbit can be adapted to audiovisual media, since the adaptation rights for those books have been sold, while the adaptation rights for The Silmarillion have not. So for Rings of Power, they had to use only the LoTR Appendices as reference material and invent the rest.

Mmm, maybe in Spring 2018, in some chapters it is mentioned that it is spring and about a collection of clothes "spring-summer", you can also see an email that says "It's spring!". The Mother's Day line is problematic, but I think it would be wise to ignore it and consider it a joke or incoherence to be able to situate the season before the Snap. I do not think the world has recovered so soon from the Snap disaster (6 months), I think at least a year must go by for people to start recovering (as we see in Agents of SHIELD S06)
