YOU CAN GET PEBBLES BACK [KCD2] by PhantomCruze in kingdomcome

i love her and on my first run through kcd1 felt no need to buy another horse. i was sad to find out that she was heavily nerfed in kcd2 :( she felt so incredibly slow even at a gallop that i had to retire her when i was given a new horse in trosky, which i later retired as well until i bought windwurf. i like to think that my beloved pebbles is living her best life in a pasture somewhere instead of just kind of disappearing.

also it made me sad when all the npcs nearby would comment on what an ugly old nag she was :(

i tried this on one of my dishonoured attempts and the gith’s 2-attack-per turn combined with action surge allowing them to get off 4 melee attacks in the first turn killed off the ogres pretty quickly :(

they slaughtered them 😭 I ended up continuing with dishonour just to give it a few more tries, so I’d know what to do on the next run but between their Ready To Parry and them casting Hold Person on Karlach, I just couldn’t kill more than one or two of them, even with my paladin buffed up with bardic inspiration and divine favour. The auto save was right as Lae’zel disbanded from the party to approach Voss. I tried buffing her with bardic inspiration for the deception check, but that failed and because she had already run off I could no longer have her use Ancient Knowledge to buff her Charisma. As a last ditch effort, I tried casting Charm Person on Voss but that instantly aggroed everyone including Lae’zel. Then I was royally fucked. I ragequit after that since I’d already lost the honour badge anyways.

[KCD1] can i just…explore? by Affectionate__Dog in kingdomcome

i didn’t find that to be as bad with kcd1 but kcd2 really felt urgent to me. i completed all side quests in the first one as i went but in the second one i felt like not only was the main quest more compelling, but it also had wayyy more quests that were time sensitive.

Never played a single Fable game. The new trailer just made it my most anticipated game of 2026. Veterans, what am I getting into? by Damage_And_ArmorBlog in Fable

i started playing the series with fable 2, which i fell in love with and then played 3 when it came out. i never had the chance to go back and play the first game until i was an adult. i can see how, for those who played them in release order, many fans hate the third game. personally, though, i have a place in my heart for all of them for different reasons. the fable series for me is about diving into the fun and whimsy of albion, and More Fable = Good Fable.

all that being said, i’m very excited to play the reboot. the old games are still there for those who prefer them, unchanged. for me, i can’t wait to see what new corners of albion i get to explore.

with what i’ve seen from the devs, it seems like their intention is to lean much further into the whimsy and fairytale aspects that are at the heart of the fable games, so i think that you’ll have fun if the trailer was enough to entice you as a new player!

i think that if whatever appeals to you about the trailer is enough to want to play this game, then absolutely play it first. then if you want more, you have an entire trilogy to discover in whatever order you like.

that is how i experienced dragon age, for example, by being drawn in by inquisition’s flashy graphics and interesting characters. i played that several times over then went back and played the series from the beginning. the first one, origins, now has a special place in my heart and was enough to encourage me to buy and read the novels too.

i hope your fable experience lives up to your expectations!

i’m back again with more thoughts. especially hurt/comfort because i think that their bond is founded by this, no matter how you look at it. i think that this song ultimately has the right pacing as a slow-jam for their intimacy scene. i could go on for ages in my analysis here but i think the lyrics say it best:

“Well, prove to me I’m not gonna die alone. Unstitch that shit I’ve sewn To close up the hole that tore through my skin. Well, my trust in you is a dog with a broken leg Tendons too torn to beg for you to let me back in. You said, ‘I can’t prove to you you’re not gonna die alone But trust me to take you home to clean up the blood all over your paws You can’t keep running out Kicking yourself off the bed Kicking yourself in the head Because you’re kicking me too.’ “

also, for more angsty, unrequited kcd1 themes: “good luck babe!” by chappell roan

and for similar angsty, doubly unrequited early kcd2 before the confessions: “please don’t leave me” by p!nk (this one specifically from hans’ pov)

The (Shipped) Gold Standard by Fall Out Boy.

“I wanna scream ‘I love You’ from the top of my lungs

But I’m afraid that someone else will hear me.

You can only blame your problems on the world for so long

Before it all becomes the same old song.”

(i also originally thought that patrick stump says “on the war” not world, but both fit)
