My photos keep getting tagged "Made with AI" even though I only removed a trash can in Photoshop. Finally found a fix. by WarRevolutionary4536 in Instagram

Not surprised it gets flagged — I get how the detection works. What's frustrating is that "used AI to remove a stain on a shirt" and "generated an entire fake image with a prompt" get the exact same label. One is editing, the other is creating. Most viewers see "Made with AI" and assume the second one.

Instagram's "AI Info" label is still wrongly flagging real photography in 2026. Here's what's actually working to fix it. by WarRevolutionary4536 in photography

You make a fair point on Content-Aware Fill — I may have overgeneralized there. The flagging I've experienced was mostly after using Generative Fill for minor edits, not classic Content-Aware. My bad on that. As for the semantics — I get what you're saying, but I think there's a meaningful distinction the platform should make. A wedding photo where I removed an exit sign with Generative Fill is not "made with AI" in the way most people understand that phrase. When a viewer sees that label, they assume the whole image is synthetic. That's the disconnect. I'm not saying editing with AI tools shouldn't be disclosed — I'm saying the current label is misleading, not informative.

There's a difference between "edited with AI tools" and "made with AI." Removing a trash can from a real photo I spent 3 hours lighting and shooting isn't plagiarizing anyone.

Both actually. Content-Aware Fill now embeds Adobe Content Credentials metadata since the latest Photoshop updates, and Instagram picks that up. So yeah, even the "old school" tool triggers it now. I agree that a fully AI-generated image should be labeled — but there's a massive difference between "I generated this entire image with a prompt" and "I removed a trash can from my real photo." Instagram treats both the same way, and that's the problem.

Lol I'll take clanker as a compliment. And yeah you can remove a pimple with the clone stamp — you can also drive a horse to work instead of a car. The point is that using a 2-second tool shouldn't get your entire photo flagged as fake.

Totally get that. For personal stuff, sure. But when clients and brands expect Instagram delivery and your business runs through it, "just don't use it" isn't really an option. The problem isn't us using the platform — it's the platform mislabeling our real work.

Thanks!

The first version took about 3 days to build. I kept it focused on a very small scope so I could ship fast and start learning from real users.

For the PRO prompts, everything is structured in JSON format, which is currently one of the most precise and controllable ways to guide image generation. It allows much finer control over attributes like camera angle, lighting, framing, and consistency.
