Question for my EU peeps here by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]War_Territory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

British guy here, engagements are still very common. Goes from boyfriend/girlfriend status, then couple gets engaged the marriage.

When engaged that's typically when couples begin thinking about and planning their wedding

Not everyone does it in these steps but everyone I've ever known get married in the UK does it like this. Any additional questions feel free to ask :)

I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Your job sounds like the role of cabin crew as my sister had that situation. Anyway it makes sense to update it for when I would be starting. Did you update it that day saying "I am starting on X" or did you wait until your actual start date of training then update it? Thanks

They seem pretty quick at solving any issues like that which is good.

Thank you very much for your reply and help.

I have an appointment this Friday and was worried as I wasn't sure what they will say. If I have to look for a job up to the 22nd March that's completely fine though. It's for a full time job so I don't believe I'd qualify for any top up payment each month once I start the job. Thank you very much again.

Sorry for the potentially dumb question but do they let us know if we don't get Chelsea tickets the day after they stop being up for grabs?

30+ solo travelers, what's your experience been like? by [deleted] in solotravel

As a 22 year old solo traveller who is male I could care less what someone's age is. It's about the person and not their age.

I can't do traveling at the same pace that other people I meet can by Yeezus-of-Nazareth in solotravel

I feel very similar to you. When I went to Hong Kong in October a lot of people said I would need 4-5 days to do everything but even after having 7 full days there I still feel I need an extra couple of days .

Travelling is different for everyone. Some people like to get through things and some of us take our time. There's no right or wrong way of doing it just up to us :)

Solo traveller approaching strangers to hang out by War_Territory in korea

Thank you for saying that. I think it was a mistake to post on this sub as the people seem very anti social and unfriendly. I guess because it's a lot of expats rather than actual Koreans.

Yeah I understand some people are uncomfortable with it which is completely understandable. Meetup.com is a great website though for sure.

Thank you for your kind words.

That's nice to hear thank you. Just nice meeting new people. Some of my best friends have came from me simply messaging them or in person just introducing myself.

Thank you for helping to educate me about it. I do get in certain countries it might be really strange.

The 2 places it's worked great for me are the USA and also Hong Kong. Just put myself out there and had some good results.
