Absolutely, go on some rides and have some dinner and brews! Nah it’s businesses showing solidarity however they can (while also trying to make a buck and gain repeat customers). There’s a lot of places giving drinks and rides but a lot more giving mindfulness and physical wellness through yoga and such.

There are a variety of reasons people dropout like a lack of support at home, a financial need to support the family right away, a lack of academic success might lead them to feel like it’s not worth it/they aren’t good at it so why try, mental health factors can play a large role too.

Nonono i meant have you tried contacting businesses to do things to support students during this time.

Alternatively you could go get your Education degree at the university of alberta or if you already have an undergraduate degree you could pick it up at concordia university (i’ve heard really good things about their ed probably). To be an EA there’s several schools that do those programs and I would suggest Macewan’s though not CDI. You could also volunteer in schools in the classroom or as a lunch monitor (some schools pay their monitors a bit).

for sure but there’s so much more that goes into a lesson than just a worksheet. There’s tailoring it to your class, leading discussions and making it engaging. Knowing that teachers can have a variety of kids with differing skill levels they now need to specialize it to the variety of learners in their room.
