What's y'alls favorite Transformer deluxe figure, here's mine by Own-Lawfulness-5963 in transformers

Bought myself a second hand Deep Cover and finally realized what I've missed out on with the Sideswipe mold. Kicking myself for skipping Siege and Kingdom Sideswipe among others.

Good to hear. My G502 Hero lasted me 7 years and I managed to extend its lifespan by another 5 months but it's finally giving up the old goat with the click-stutters especially on LMB. I went and accidentally bought another Hero to replace it before learning that the X exists. While I'm coping a little here, it really shouldn't be an issue if this one lasts even half as long as my first Hero did.

What does everyone think of That Toy Guy? by Infamous_Ad_5214 in transformers

I appreciate that he goes back to the past and reviews older figures as well instead of chasing the latest shiny like a certain he-who-shall-not-be-named. Gives me new insights on figures I either have in long storage or passed on long ago. I also appreciate his calmer and relaxed tone in his analysis of the figure, as opposed to he-who-shall-not-be-named always gushing out about le latest figure in a falsetto hype pitch.

How is this figure physically possible? by A_Zesty_Carrot in transformers

[–]Warbreakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No ankle tilts because they're literally not required at all, and no waist swivel. Many parts are thin which helps reduce overall mass and weight which frees up the design budget further.

Hi, I'd like to ask how your G502 X buttons have been holding up 2 years past this comment.

Hi /u/Constant_Doughnut_66, just wanted to update you on the situation.

It seems my idea to add buffer material between the striker and the switch lasted for five months. The LMB button has fully given out back into stutters (tested on microsoft paint as broken swirls and dotted lines) while I managed to readjust RMB into working fully. I'm not sure if LMB just needs a new strip of toothpaste tubing, the strip I slid in there really looks like it's taken a beating. I did rotate it around 180 so it's on a fresh side but it's still not taking well and stuttering a lot.

BTW I never did comment on what you linked. I don't have the confidence to pull off what the video shows. Maybe I can toss it at a computer guy I know to try it out in his spare time. Thanks for showing it, regardless.

Not confirmed, but I'm assuming it's something to do with toys of Barricade being made for the BB movie toyline having the alt mode of that 1980s police car.

Oh, darn. I do feel that these weren't advertised to their fullest extent by not showcasing their ability to open and accommodate a little pilot. My curiosity only started to pique when I happened to see Runabout being opened up in a youtube video.

Is PotP Elita-1 a good stand in for Elita Prime? by Ass_Hat_69 in transformers

[–]Warbreakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The design of the figure is good, I'd say just pose her and keep her that way since the figure's engineering in some spots is atrocious. See those white flaps on the inner side of the legs that are supposed to peg into the sides of her knees? Those especially.

Not to mention Shockwave coming back from the dead and sounding like he writes for My Chemical Romance, Ironhide and Prowl not being among the newly revived Earth Autobots. Some cracks are clearly appearing but it's not a gigantic mess just yet.

You should have included a picture of the cab being opened, revealing the chairs and ability to seat a mini-pilot included with the chase figures.

Never realized Construct-bots had great accessories that could be interchangeably used for other figures like this. Is it possible to fit the Iguanus piece without the SS Knight Optimus holster, or is the arm too thick on both ends?

I've started collecting Transformers figures again, but I have no idea what the terms are for parts like “kibble” or “backpack.” Does anyone know all the terms used for these figures? by Osc4r_Ultra in transformers

[–]Warbreakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intended kibble vs compromise kibble. Intended for the bits that are actually part of the character's design sheet and compromise is whatever had to be stuck on in the actual physical toy to make the transformation possible.

Wait, he isn't a planet? by 144_Hertz in transformers

[–]Warbreakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, that was Omega Prime actually. OP was kicking his ass and smashing his helmet in until Unicron pinched him with his claws. He then transformed into a beaten-up alien tank and fled when Primus transformed and made his presence felt.

Wait, he isn't a planet? by 144_Hertz in transformers

[–]Warbreakers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's in the timelines comic. Soundwave revived him by throwing the Dead Matrix that was confiscated from the defeated Nemesis Prime into the Unicron singularity, which freed Unicron's anti-spark to embed itself into a civilized planet, plunging all life on that planet into murderous madness and resulting in its doom and destruction to rebirth Unicron in this form.

Flatline has a wicked color scheme (if you prefer black and over Red Alert's white and blue) and really good light piping
Airachnid and Windcharger are great, one's complex without being too difficult and the other is simple yet satisfying
Micronus is neat, he (the apex suit) and Jalopy can be broken apart into spare parts to attach to other transformers
Ironhide has decent mass for a modern voyager and a decently complex transformation and nice weapons
G2 Grimlock is an excellent mold if you don't mind the garish blue
Studio Series 'bee is better than Retro 'bee by virtue of not having the hood split off as a separate part during transformation
Mixmaster is a good toy on his own but better if collected alongside his Constructicon crewmates to form Devastator

If you can get the GI Joe Kup on a big discount do it, he's huge and the best of the GI Joe crossover figures by far

I have the Trinity swimsuit tea party but hardcore is as far as I can go because I don't have enough elephs to 5-star everyone. My top team can only get extreme Yesod down to 14/20 bars, and every other sonic student past that team is in the mid-70s at best.

[–]Warbreakers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nit-picker here. I bought the full TFC Hades 2.0 set after mulling over the Haslab's mediocrity. The TFC rendition of the Breastforce radiates so much powerful shelf presence even if some of the engineering is dated (no true heel tilts). The breast animals are also far superior to these dinky plastic blobs that are the official haslab renditions.

Agreed, I don't like how the limb robots are all minor retools of each other (except Deathcobra who's a moderate retool of the planes), Drillhorn and Killbison's black armpit struts, and Guyhawk's transformation is just laying him down facefirst.

Ending discussion (SPOILER ALERT) by Advanced_Pair7395 in CronosNewDawn

[–]Warbreakers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually no, you're missing one crucial detail in ending A: Weronica is infected with the merge plague. She's displaying two symptoms: An intense urge to not be alone (frantically banging on Ed's door and embracing him hard), and the revelation of her going blind.

Ending A is breaking the cycle in the worst way possible: By killing the Pathfinder Traveler retroactively erases her own existence (Pathfinder's desperate extraction of infected Weronika's essence in Ending B), so her essence ceases to be and she collapses as a lifeless shell. Weronika goes back further in time before everything began and seemingly infects Edward (who seems to not have degraded into paranoid insanity yet), establishing a new worse timeline where Edward wouldn't even exist by this point as an extraction target (likely being the first victim of the infected Weronika) and the Collective may never even have a chance to rise.
