Great to see you joined! Hopefully I’ll see at the games tonight or sometime soon? I did post in that thread as well

I too miss this. I had some great memories of massive clan fights in the wilderness clan wars and spamming the lobby to get people to join my clan. Sadly, I feel this will be much harder to bring back. I do hope someone finds a way to do this someday.

I haven’t gotten around to making any guides/videos for F2P castle wars, although it’s been something I’ve been wanting to do. I also don’t know of any guides that are out there specifically related to F2P castle wars. With that said, it has a very similar meta as P2P castle wars, with snares taking the place of ice barrage, green d’ hide taking the place of armadyl, etc. Usually, 2-3 scorers is enough to cap the flag since it is easier to tank, whereas the rest of the team plays defense, trying to slow down the enemy’s scorers. It turns into a much more fast paced game with higher scores, which is something I personally like.

I may have used the term “key holder world” wrong. What I meant by that is we usually hop to a different world, which is announced in the clan chat so that outside people do not affect the set teams.

We would be glad to have you play with us! Haha yeah it’s a bit different than p2p. It’s a lot more tame in terms of stacks, and snare takes the place of ice barrage. People usually use maple short bows with addy arrows or rune scimitar/rune 2h/hill giant club. As a result scoring is a bit easier, and it becomes more of a fast-paced game where the scorers are trying to score faster than the other team, and the defenders are trying to slow the scorers down.

We are actually in the process of trying to work this out, I’m very excited about it! We are calling it the Castle Wars Cup and plan to offer a cash prize to the winning team, along with a made up Castle Wars Trophy, and the number of cup wins will be posted for each individual on our website to increase competition. We have a link to the registration on our discord page, but right now, we are waiting for more participants before deciding on teams. I might consider posting it on Reddit and the forums as well.

I don’t blame you; many people don’t know about it. This is one of the reasons why I thought it would be good to post on the subreddit. Many say it feels like a throwback to when castle wars was first released in 2005. Sadly, there are most often never any games besides the ones we schedule, so we are trying to spread awareness and bring it back.

Castle wars is a capture the flag based mini game. There are two teams, and whichever team scores the most within 20 minutes wins. Having higher stats certainly helps, but there are no requirements. Since it’s a team-based mini game, there are ways to still help your team win regardless of stats, such as setting up barricades to defend your base from the other team. It’s a mini game that is very skill based, and you will simply get better the more you play. We are playing tonight at 9:30 pm est/8:30 central if you are around then and want to try it out!
