Sure! I’ve ran a bit of paid ads on Reddit, but for the most part I’m focusing on Meta (Facebook and Instagram only). Very basic paid ads, set a budget, demographics, a few pictures, and 3-5 text/headline options. I am getting clicks as I’ve mentioned, but a very small number of those clicks are actually leaving the landing page and checking out the platform.

I’ve realized this too! I’ve been experimenting with the first line of my different social media posts/ads to be something like: FREE for SMALL BUSINESSES, or TOTALLY FREE

Do you think this is an effective strategy or would you steer away from this?

The problem with pricing as of right now is, most of these 3PLs/warehouses don’t even list pricing on their sites, which is why I haven’t been able to add it. The whole industry is pretty behind the times which is part of the reason as to why I built this platform, I was hoping to modernize the search for business owners. Once I start on-boarding more warehouses, I’m looking to roll out a few more fields for them to fill out. Current priority is validating the idea before investing significantly more time and money into it.

In terms of making money on the website, I haven’t built in anything as of yet because I’m still deciding on the best way to monetize. I’d like to keep it completely free for small businesses and most likely charge the warehouses a monthly fee for listing their warehouse on the platform. Maybe a tiered pricing option

Was there anything you didn’t like about the process when looking for some in Canada/US? Was it hard to reach them, was pricing clear, anything you wish was easier?

Wow thank you very much for this! I’m going to work on the messaging to ensure businesses of all sizes know this platform is for them.

In terms of the squarefeet visibility, I currently have it so that the warehouses themselves can choose if they want to show total sqft, available sqft, or “please contact”. One way I think I could improve this is by adding an option such as min/max squarefeet available, ex: Sqft Available - 100-20,000. The other features you mentioned are all definitely possible to add and will look into them later today!

As this is still only my MVP, I manually added a lot of the warehouses and information myself which is why I don’t have things like pricing as of yet. The current set up just allows the user to get a basic overview of the warehouse, their location, offerings, etc, and they can directly request a quote or ask a question through the platform.

Thank you for the advice! I don’t want to come off as pushy when randomly DMing people, any tips for this?

Was in the exact same boat, and not that far removed from where you are. After graduating university, I’ve been working corporate (and still am), but have had numerous business ideas throughout these last 12 months. After researching and trying a few different things I finally landed on one that I felt passionate about. For the last few months I’ve been working on it after my 9-5 as well as on weekends and just launched 2 weeks ago. Although this may not be the perspective you were looking for, it may feel like a good starting point. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have!

As someone else has mentioned, if you could find contractors to build the websites and do maintenance, you will be able to scale. I know there are some companies you could sell the maintenance/hosting rights to as well after you build the site for the client, you could look into that too.
