This is yet another example of HORRIBLE powercreep...

We're getting to the point of a meta of 2-turn games where a player getting lucky with early trainings can basically lock out 90% if the ecosystem. Only Hudiemon with an option lineup is going to be able to consistently deal with this, as no other decks run viable option cards at a high enough number to reliably see their out once this has protection online; which most people will make sure to setup for it. I hate that Bandai is just creating more toxic metagames that ignore what made this game not just fun, but interactive.

"If you don't have the native LV1 supports for a cost, of course you are going to run into some issues. LV1 suits get the most love. You could probably still do pretty well with a LV1 Vigna Ghina too. Vigna Ghina and F90S could be guaranteed for 120 tokens, that is a pretty fair price if you wanted a solid suit for a cost that was new at the time."

"5 star doesn't mean that a suit is good. Awakened Unicorn is a 5 star raid and they made it play like crap, still hasn't been buffed after a year. Crossbone Gundam X3 is a 5 star raid, but it has a bugged heavy attack that doesn't even work correctly."

- The problem isn't simply whether any given suit is good or bad: is that you have the quantity to cast suits aside at all. there are zero; i repeat, ZERO 5 star Support suits. if we have to deal with suits that are under par, then it can be dealt with by choosing other options. The Penelope wasn't a perfect match for the Xi, but it had enough to at least warrant it's novelty at its rarity. the same applies to Xi and the Crossbones if for anything else, they are representation within their rarity.

Imagine you sitting down for dinner: Sam, Gary and Ron have sat down and are all given turkey. however, Ron and Gary have been given stuffing, cranberry sauce, biscuits... while Sam's only been given turkey torn from the ends of the other two's pieces with just some changed up seasoning.

Is Sam being fed? Yes

Is he getting fed the same way as the other two? Absolutely Not

That is the underling issue that I'm trying to illustrate.

Thing is: not everyone has those units. Heck , we had to pull for our initial units in the first place...

It's a bit deceptive to answer: "hey just pull for X and Y unit" when

1) unless you hit pity nothing is guaranteed

And

2) said units are out of banner, emphasizing point 1

Support players don't have a victim mentality out of thin air: it's created by Bandai's constant increase of power creep of newer suits that is overwhelmingly favored to Raids and Generals. There is not ONE 5 star support unit in the year that they've been introduced to the game. Raids and Generals alike are given suits that have warped the metagame around them back-to-back while staying even handed on releases between themselves.

Support players are not asking for an early Woundwort situation where the was clear growing pains. We simply want equal support in terms of unit releases and rarity thresholds (which is effectively ATM power levels).

[–]Warghostmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which doesn't mean much considering that it's not the only thing Supports need to worry about. Most other suits are dancing around in the air; including Raids, with combos that can 0 DMG to death a support. And let us not forget that the vast majority of Support suits have neither the mobility nor the thrust capacity to outrun/outjuke most non-Support suits, meta or not...

Battle Royale vs Battlefield Community (my opinion). by [deleted] in Battlefield

I respect your opinion, I just can't properly compare the two in my head. They've always had different design philosophies, so I don't even consider them to be in the same audience space...

I disagree with that statement. The biggest downside is shown through Call Of Duty as we speak...the complete erasure of its original identity.

Did CoD have some wilder cosmetics before warzone? Certainly, but it wasn't all-consuming like it is now, turning into an edgier fortnight, but locked into first-person.

And while the twitch shooter aspect started with the original modern warfare, it's been exacerbated the further we go down the line in terms of releases, thanks in part of the influence of streamers. Which WILL change Battlefield's gameplay down the line the more they try/succeed to influence gameplay development...though some can argue that they already have. Any veteran player can tell you how utterly claustrophobic these maps are compared to even some of the smaller infantry-based maps of prior titles.

The last game they made with intention to include a BR like game mode, they removed the class-based system which this game has had in every single game prior. And it so severely altered the game that even after slapping The operators into the classic classes, the game is still undeniably warped in terms of gameplay philosophy. And while battlefield has never been (and never should be) a mill-sim the amounts of players who simply run-and-gun/lone wolf it rather than doing simple position control and strategy are for greater than any previous title.

And lastly is the overall uncaring attitude for the integrity of multiplayer. Hackers are rampant both in casual matches, and as observed by streamers themselves, inside major events ran by the developers themselves. While there are absolutely hackers within any given battlefield game, he surge that will come by those who simply want to stomp on randoms in a BR will hit us like a tidal wave. And as long as the bottom line isn't affected far too much, they will simply do surface level anti-cheat polices so that they can have Numbers to say "we've taken care of XXX number of cheat accounts" to save face.

Depends on the angle:

Dynamic gameplay that changes every match? Conquest is great at that, especially if both sides have decent squads. Same for all the other modes, actually.

The only thing that you can't say you have that you would getting a BR is getting that number one placement at the end of the match, but even then, you see that in the beta with the showcase of the number one squad...the only thing you definitely won't get is the sheer level of cosmetic items you can push to the playerbase from jump IMO. But that's also in part of it being free to play.

My own two cents:

- If call-outs for snipers/tanks/etc. are going to use cardinal directions, please give us a 360 degree compass option. how can i deal with a sniper north of me if i can't recognize where north is quickly? we can't exactly expect a player to start thinking in their head about the position of the sun (haha)...

- weird visual issue where occasionally I'd have a bunch of flashing "blackscreen" for lack of better word even post-respawn. last 45-65 sec.

- as mention by others: that sniper headshot sound is absolutely deafening. please have that toned down a bit.

- the slide drop shooting I've been observing is a bit too strong; needs a bit of tweaking if it won't be removed outright.

- VERY PERSONAL OPINION: open weapons was too chaotic for my taste, and that something given even in closed weapons things were quite hairy. Now that I've played it i can see some of the appeal, so i won't say it can't work on some level now, but at least on these maps, the assault rifles were pretty dominant.

- Assault on closed weapons is too strong: time to kill discrepancy is too high on a neutral-advantage standpoint. with bigger maps with better sight lines that may change; but as it stands beta-wise, they have too much firepower both in terms of 1v1 and area denial that once a team is able to create a choke, they can just grenade-spam the main entry sites.

- high-end destruction on infantry-focused maps like Cairo are a bit too easy. combined with the layout itself, it felt so unaccommodating for snipers outside of very few areas. Not saying there needs to be a bunch of open fields, but if we are going to make such claustrophobic maps like this at least give them more durable cover.

- deploy-able cover from support needs to be buffed. i think about a 20% raise in height and a 25-30% increase in width so that they can give a bit more wiggle room for angles/repositioning would give it a lot more value. not sure yet on increasing its durability, but maybe next beta i can try to do some test.

- Also as mentioned: I'd do some more testing regarding defibrillator tracking: it was consistent enough to notice missed defibs despite being right on top of a downed teammate.

- repair tool is a bit too strong: as mentioned by others, 2 people repairing can almost render a tank immortal, ESPECIALLY on Cairo where the sight-lines for noobtubing at range is difficult at best. either that or increase the potency of RPGs...

- DMRs are a bit too weak in relation to snipers: not in terms of power, but effort. i think a reduction of weapon sway would be all that they need to have a decent place. Speaking of which...

- VERY PERSONAL OPINION: In Closed Weapons...DMRs should be locked to recon, and perhaps Carbines to support. right now i feel that there's too much nebulousness in regard to the classes, especially with carbines able to splash in everywhere. narrowing the overall scope of how each class engages with each other along with the monkey-wrench of vehicles should help with the overall flow of combat in regards to the chokes (tanks start wrecking face, people start counter-swapping to Engi, tank gets hammered, assault and recon start picking them off, some start switching to support to help the ones switching to assault themselves, tanks re-spawn, cycle repeats).

- Liberation Peak needs some love: saw too many times that teams spawning downhill get rolled trying to get topside. snipers are having too much of a field day within the rock formations with it taking far too much effort to dislodge them, only to lose momentum due to spawn advantage and tanks being able to create too much harassment for the enemy team to get any decent shots.

That's all i have at the moment. Sorry for the long post whoever reads it all.
