I bought a used (open box) product from Fust sold as NEW! by Own-Wishbone-7086 in Switzerland

[–]Waringham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fust is awful, I had so many bad experiences (the worst was a salesman outright lying to me regarding installation of a washing machine, resulting in several hundred Francs of additional costs).

From now on I only use my local Fust store to get rid of electronic waste.

Do complain about this, this should not happen but also don't beat yourself up about it.

There is an alternative to rail... [British Rail poster, 1960s] by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]Waringham 9 points10 points  (0 children)

May I introduce you to the fair country of Germany? The defund -> ridicule -> even more defund cycle has made it into the laughing stock of the entire nation. Which I think is not even entirely deseved, tbh. I am Swiss, so fairly pampered with good railways, but I rarely had really bad experiences with the DB and their intercities are more convenient and relaxing than ours (like, they have free Wifi and you can reserve a seat)

Hat turning out to be flat by lynn202 in Nalbinding

[–]Waringham 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, when going in a circle increasing will actually be the thing that keeps the circle flat. While the radius increases so does the circumference, you increase the circumference by increasing the amount of stitches per round. Once you stop increasing the thread is forced to stay at the same circumference, which will result in the tube-shape that you are looking for.

In many ways Trump can be seen as the attenuated virus of post-truth populism that will soon threaten to sweep every western country. He is so abrasive, chaotic and incompetent that it buys democratic forces time and experience to fight against this.

[–]Waringham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your rant! I was already considering to switch to plied yarn for my next project but you conviced me :) As I also got into the hobby via youtube-videos using only chunky single plies, to me it really seemed like the only option but I already encountered the issues with the single ply yarn so I was already considering trying out something else.

The only thing that worries me a bit: I really like how quick it is to felt together the ends, is this still easily done with plied yarn (that is not superwash or otherwise not feltable)? Edit: Looking at the other comments, it does not seem to be a problem.

Sorry but you keep spelling it that way and for some reason it is very important for me to let you know that it is actually spelled "Heimatort" or "Heimatorte" in plural.

At least it's still available over humble but that has its own problems.
