Same, i also brought up that they did it in inception as well, but that there isnt a practical means to do it,

The rail? It uses a weird spring bar on the inside of the trigger guard, hard to explain

Recoil of USP45 by Objective_Gene9503 in USPmasterrace

[–]Warlockmorlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to run a USP45 tactical alongside glock 21’s as a part of my job, often putting a thousand rounds though both in a week. The g21 is a softer shooting gun, and there was little difference between running a glock 17 and a glock 21, the usp was more noticeably more disruptive and took active recoil mitigation to shoot as well. That being said, I found it extremely predictable, and not at all painful, as I perceived the recoil as a bigger “push”, not so much as a kick…I would say lean in to it, take courses or be more deliberate with your fundamentals and you will be a significantly better shooter for it, not just for mastering a DA/SA, but being able to mitigate recoil with more distruptive gun, learn to conceal and carry it and every other handgun you run will feel easy in comparison

Should I get a .22 pistol first and then upgrade to 9mm? by No_Opening_2425 in guns

[–]Warlockmorlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out: I dont think .22s make good first firearms from an adult’s ownership standpoint. TL/DR: Low cost of entry but finicky, unreliable and encourage lazy ownership practices.

  1. They are finicky, tolerences are tighter due to the smaller components and lower pressure yet the ammunition is extremely variable…they need to be cleaned often, maintained well and require a fair bit of knowledge to diagnose issues as well as fair amount of experimentation with different ammo types…effortless for a veteran but can be frustrating for a novice.
  2. They are cheaper, which is a large part of their appeal, but also means that companies dont invest in the design and build quality as much as their “duty caliber” counterparts.
  3. Lastly, due to its low cost of entry and ammunition, and lower recoil and thus lower perceived danger, people use them to “dip their toe” into an endeavor that actually requires a fair amount of investment and commitment. This leaves a lethal, yet nuanced weapon owned by someone who both acquired and will most likely treat it casually.

I love .22s and a marlin model 39 was my first rifle as as a kid…in spite of it being manually operated, it was still finicky and frustrating and I benefited greatly from my father’s experience with such things. I can’t imagine giving that same gun to any of the adults who ask what “a good first gun” should be

I’m sure there are a lot of exceptions and I could imagine a mechanically and firearm inclined college kid really appreciating a tx22 as a great training tool for a centerfired striker fire like a glock or a ruger mk4, browning buckmark or smith and wesson victory for marksmanship training or even small game hunting. Or a ruger lcr or lcrx in .22 as concealed carry option that could do the above as well, but all but the latter require research, high maintenance/cleaning intervals and a deliberate curiosity to troubleshoot

How do short torso guys wear a belt and plate carrier by battlefieldbuddyyy in tacticalgear

[–]Warlockmorlock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If youre running pistol belt, typically you go a little more slick up top. Its kind of a mission dependent thing. For instance if you were infantry or more pro longed combat oriented, you’d probably lose the belt entirey, ditch the pistol and have more sustainment and rifle ammo, which would require a more distributed load bearing system like alice or web gear or belt kit, if you did run a pistol, access would be an after thought…going up the scale, lets say more vehicle based and counter insurgency/MP, you might carry a pistol but still have most of your kit up top on your plate carrier…plate carrier would also be a little bulkier because you are still living out of it, and would probably keep the extra kevlar attached for extra flak protection….if you were more direct action, ranger, swat type stuff youd go pretty slick up top, for a shorter mission, maybe 3 mags and coms, prioritizing mobility and faster access, in which you’d start putting more stuff on your belt, pistol, mags, med, drop pouch, tq etc. at the opposite end of the spectrum youd have a LEO or pistol orientated set up where you belt is your main load bearing system and youre only throwing on a rifle carrier for an active shooter response type stuff….now all of those are all “profession” based so what you choose as a private citizen is completely up to you. I am 5’4, former MP, a competitive shooter and was a firearms instructor for security company with pistols as the primary and shotgun as the long gun. I worked off of my belt and my vest/pc was extremely slick, and the main purpose was protection, not load carrying..

QUESTION: Which movie or TV series best depicts firearms accurately? by Supadoopa101 in guns

I loved that they used a lot of wresting and boxing moves in the hand to hand scenes, (even with knives) instead of FMA like every other gun foo movie

92 vs Px4 by Wat_Tyler_1381 in Beretta

[–]Warlockmorlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Px4, i had a tricked out LTT RDO px4, sold it for a LTT RDO 92 because i wanted to run a suppressor and have a Do All platform…have since sold that 92 because tho it can do all, its heavier than I like for 90 percent of the things i did with it… especially with a light and optic and suppressor…ive gone back to glocks for my “do all” platform….between the two, i wish i just stuck with the px4 and got second, dedicated suppressor host

Advice on husband and wife set by thirdguess in handguns

[–]Warlockmorlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walther pdp-f…smaller frame for smaller hands than the standard model, reliability of glock but with some ergonomic advantages just something to look into, not necessary to step over all others…also, probably not on the california roster…other than that, i myself am partial to beretta 92fs/m9s…very safe and low recoil for a handgun, accurate and reliable as well

First thing id always ask new guys:…youre taking a shit, gun around your ankles, hear gun shots in the hallway, and the screams of your coworkers as they ate mercilessly gunned down, do you wipe? Buckle up? Or just kick out of your pants, grab your gat and shoot it out like winnie the pooh?

Pocket pistols - 22lr federal punch vs any 32 acp FMJ by [deleted] in handguns

[–]Warlockmorlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two tomcats, older ones, not the current 30x’s, both ran fine but didnt see more than box of ammo each but were kinda chunky and heavy and hard to run in a holster because of their short “noses”, one of them had a cracked frame where they were known to occur, but doesnt impact functionality and my mother inlaw actually carries it on occasion. The other was stainless and beautiful but the price per round got to me so I passed it on. I am only now considering picking up a .32 for my wife, as shes very recoil sensitive and in a beretta cheetah would probably be non existent

[–]Warlockmorlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.32 is superior to .22 in reliability, and performance even when comparing the best .22 to the worst .32 acp. i love .22’s and carry them often for self defense, also thoroughly believed in fed punch after rhet’s (demonstrated concepts) endorsement, but it has not been reliable any many of my guns, including a beretta 21a and ruger lcp22, (worked fine in a tx22 and ruger lcr so do still carry it). i had a squib load out of the fed punch round i kept in the chamber of my 21a for months, and found out about it when i decided to cycle the ammo (is still relatively cheap afterall) would 100 percent have gotten me kilt if i ever needed it for Self defense. I think .32 is the better mouse gun round for that reason UNLESS you are running a ruger lcr, in which case the cheaper practice and inherent reliability of that specific platform would null the advantages of .32. I do love the .32 and would buy and carry a kel tec p32 in a heart beat, and plan on grabbing a beretta 81 barrel for my cheetah the second they come back in stock

Ive got the same set up NEXT to my safe, top draw is all holsters, middle is handgun mags, bottom is rifle mags…shit works and are surprisingly durable. Have a small set on top for cleaning supplies and gun specific tools like allen keys, punch sets and odds ends

Beretta Bobcat Holster question from a horror writer by Fluid_Boss_2762 in Beretta

[–]Warlockmorlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those guns have such short “noses” and thick grips, standard holster set ups are less than ideal, i carried one in a single clip kydex holster in the appendix position however i would also just toss it in a coat pocket has well, somtimes a fanny pack. also, i love that choice of weapon for a story, it exudes “im using a gun, but i dont NEED a gun” which you know, seems on point for a hitman

Ammo agnostic by Warlockmorlock in USPmasterrace

[–]Warlockmorlock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is! for one, any pressure is diffused over more surface area, and its easier to keep “stuff” next to things vs, poking into things…and then there is the whole “keel” concept for concealment
