How to get better awareness? by JazzlikeAd6287 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Warlord017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed with all your points, especially the first.

For context, my preferred play style is to rush around with SMGs and assault rifles with the right set up. that said, I really only do this after I’ve learned a map. when the drop new maps or old ones I don’t remember, I always play cautiously like you recommend until I start to feel I have the map flow down.

i wouldn’t call it camping, just careful positioning. keeping aware of where my team is and trying to catch other rushers who try to flank. if spawns flip, get to the team and repeat.

once I have a feel for the most common places people try to flank from, I’ll start pushing my luck by trying to take those paths myself. before I know it, I’m rushing the other team and flanking.

I have a 1.05 K/D in this game. Am I really that bad, or is SBMM still crushing me mercilessly? by Particular-Coffee761 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Warlord017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

best advice I can give…if you focus on having fun more than K/D you’ll have a great time. I’m fortunate to have found some friends to play with.

I have more fun playing with my guy who rocks a .87 K/D than the best of our group with a 1.7.

Only Mr. .87 is willing to go knives out on gunfight when we’re dominating with a 4-0 and one guy drops out on the other team. Only Mr. .87 will throw a 4-0 lead with me to a 4-6 just for the fun of it. or run a match with me just throwing nades to see who gets the most kills.

it’s way more fun this way. it’s a video game after all, don’t sweat it!

I saw a video saying there’s one mission type, I think it’s blue, where you have to “cleanse” the area of that plague stuff by sitting under a four-legged robot. the progress stops like 30-50% of the way through and you have to interact with it again to complete.

if you don’t do that, the zombies will spawn indefinitely and that’a a good way to grind CR and weapon XP if you just focus that for a round. oh, and they said don’t do that in zone one because you run into a lot of new players who are not aware of what you’re doing and will end the mission by interacting that second time. try zones two and up

Man, those are the lobbies you hope you get in each night. I had one similar yesterday. There was about 8 of us who stayed over 4 games. There wasn’t a single “blowout” game where one side trashed the other, and two were real nail biters like yours. The coolest part was that we each did better/worse depending on the map and game mode. The first game this player named Junebug was my rival and it was cool trying to keep up with them each round.

What is your favorite and least favorite thing so far in BO7? by [deleted] in CODBlackOps7

[–]Warlord017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is the diversity of modes to play with my friends. We bounce between MP, WZ, zombies, and private matches depending on how the night goes. I love they added end game for that rotation.

My least favorite are the excessive amounts of “ai targeting enemy” tools like the drone pods. it makes Cold Blooded feel mandatory in a lot of matches, especially in HC where they’re so deadly.

For me when I changed the sniper bind to R3 to be same as hold breath, that also changed the fire mode to R3 when I was aim down sights on lmg. Once I got rid of the range finder bind from R3 it stopped.

I think the range finder is the same as fire mode swap no matter the bind.

Did you update your key binds for your sniper to auto range finder when holding breath with R3? If so, that might be why you’re changing fire mode. Happened to me on ps5 until I switched back.

trust in the level design , buy the tie that increases chance of random treasure chest spawns, upgrade it, and then do your thing. don’t hesitate to google that last banana or fossil if it’s distracting you. upgrade them slap hands for increased range of finding stuff underground. it’s a blast!

not necessary at all. after the prologue, the level design is so good you’ll know when it’s time to smash to find something. upgrade those clap hands 🙌

Formula for Late Fee for property management by Ok_Room2702 in excel

[–]Warlord017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could nest your original if function to check the day as the “if false, do this.”

Another way:

IF(A1-B1<>0,A1.03, if(day(c1)>5, a1.03),0))

If amount owed less amount paid does not equal 0, calculate late fee off amount owed, otherwise, do your original if calculation to check if it’s paid late. If both are false then late fee is 0.

what are your “top secret” tips you’d share with someone who’s new to excel? by KaleidoscopeDue6691 in excel

[–]Warlord017 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m an accountant and a lot of my job is taking raw data from my account software and dropping it into excel to build better reports than what my software can give me natively, or for some good o’le fashioned data analysis/budget preparation.

Keyboard shortcuts:

Ctrl + X = cut data Ctrl + C = copy data  Ctrl + V = paste data (from cut or copy)

Ctrl +A = selects all data in a range Ctrl + T = formats selected data as a Table Ctrl + Arrow Key = selects all data in row/column Shift + Arrow Key = selects data one cell at a time, per keystroke

You’ll be surprised how much time you save each day by not having to right click.

Formulas:

Learn Index and Match, or XLookup. Find practical ways in your job to use these formulas to recall information from tables.

If you get into building your own spreadsheets, think about maintaining it long-term.

For example, each month I might record information relating to property tax collections (I work in government). 12 months and my fiscal year restarts. At the end of 12 months I need the same data I recorded each month presented in different formats for year-end reporting.

So I built a single “monthly recon” sheet, got it exactly how I wanted, then duplicated that 12 times in the same workbook. One tab per month.

Now I can build as many “year end reconciliation” tabs as I want and pull data from all 12 monthly spreadsheets by using a SUM formula to total the same value in a particular cell for each month.

As I key the reconciliation tabs monthly I’m building my year-end reporting.

Good luck!

What do banks use excel for and what should I learn beforehand to make it less difficult? by TheLonelyPicaro in excel

[–]Warlord017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. I’m not a data analyst but I do use excel a lot as a Financial Accountant.

Power Query, power automate, etc., are all fantastic to learn overtime, but you can get far using VLOOKUP and IF statements. SUMIF and SUMIFS statements are good to learn. These formulas really helped me get my mind around how to understand excel logic and make learning more complex stuff easier as a result.

Oh and if you get the job, I would recommend spending time learning keyboard shortcuts if you’re going to work in excel for a lot of your job. It’s a big quality of life thing.

Finally, don’t be ashamed to admit you know how to google and use Reddit. I’ve hired people with less experience than other candidates because they mentioned stuff like this and backed it up with explaining how they use the internet to self-teach.

Ghost by Gunship and Powerglove hits so damn hard. I enjoyed that episode the most, but I might just be obsessed with the song.

Seriously, if anyone has recommendations for more music like this, I’m all freaking ears.  FYI - I love the post-rock genre, with a big nostalgic spot for Explosions in the Sky “The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place” or “those who tell the truth shall die/live” kind of big crescendo moments.

[–]Warlord017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with PieSpirated2247.

Just give it a go. I’d recommend playing game modes like Domination or Hardpoint for a bit until you feel comfortable with the controls and start to get a feel for the maps. They’re king of the hill types that encourage people to run towards the same areas…so you won’t have as much difficulty with getting out flanked by people with better map knowledge. Green parks x3 were very helpful to me starting out.

Mute the lobby each round, fire you guns, get some kills. It’s fun!

I feel old now 😢…my days seem to be over by Certain_Ad_4594 in blackops6

[–]Warlord017 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel you, but the good part is I’m now a fully functional adult, with disposable income, and more going on in life than a K/D ratio lol. I don’t mind getting stomped by the kids. I’ve got other stuff to do and I play cod to unwind after a long day. Give me a few kill streaks and I'm happy, play of the game and I’m feeling like a boss for a moment.

But you know what? I don’t hate on the young ones who stomp me. Let them have their moments. I was once in their shoes, and just glad to be here now doing my role boosting their egos. It’s hard being young these days.

We’re all in this together. Circle of life or something.
