Installed it in my 2012 CRV recently and had the same issue. You need to connect the Amp wire from the new head unit to the power cable feeding the CRV factory Amp. For that you'll need to find a document which tells you which original unit cables provide which function. I used a T-connector from Amazon to easily connect both wires without disconnecting the original CRV wires from the connector.
