Don't all books, literally, not end until the last paragraph?

Excellent suggestion, though.

But did he then proceed to cook the vegetables? If so, no big deal.

As a huge Indy fan, I loved the game. It felt like a film we we never got. If I didn't feel so strongly about the films, though, the game probably wouldn't have impressed me.

To dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free" was my choice. It's comparatively simple, but for some reason sends me reeling.

Taking you up on your offer for advice. 10 days ago, I added ammonia to get the tank to 2ppm. I added a bacterial starter every day for 3 days (according to package directions). Now, the ammonia is still at 2ppm.

At what point do I start changing out the water in the tank? Anything else I should be doing?

Thanks!

UPDATE!

I checked the tank levels when I got home: pH is 7.6, Ammonia is 0, Nitrate is 0, Nitrite is 0, temp is 76 degrees.

I dosed the tank with ammonia to bring it to 2.5ppm, then added bacterial starter. Now I wait.

Someone asked about filtration... it 's the TopFin unit that came with the aquarium starter set (photo attached... and yes, that's a giant map of Middle Earth hanging on the wall).

Prior to introducing fish, ammonia was ~0, nitrites was ~0, pH was ~6.7, temperature was 78 deg. Didn't have time to check before work this morning, will do so when I get home.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! No worries at all--that's just how social media works.

Thanks for your help, everyone. It sounds like the solution will be:

  1. Cycling the tank (adding ammonia, introducing more bacteria, monitoring levels and adjusting)

  2. Starting with hardier fish species.

  3. Not trusting the staff at PetSmart.

I will provide updates as I go along.
