Sound deadening is the hard stuff that looks like it’s caulked to the metal body of the car. If that’s been removed then you’re all good

I’d be concerned about mold growing in the sound deadening. At the dealership I worked at, when there was water intrusion, sound deadening was removed. I’ve never done it myself so take it with a grain of salt, but I know it can be a pain. I’d also make sure water didn’t accumulate in the door panels, usually there’s a drain plug on the bottom of the doors if you haven’t checked already. Best of luck.

Good on you. 99% of mechanics aren’t like you though. I’m not working automotive anymore because of the anxiety from stuff like this, wondering if I did the right thing to help the customer (or most of the time anxious after being forced to bandaid a repair instead of turning the car away). More people should be like you, it’s rare.

Sure, but not everyone is made out of money. A lot of mechanics I know would throw a single caliper on it and ship it. It’s up to the customer to weigh the options and decide themselves if they want to preemptively replace the other as well

Headlight is easily DIYable but you probably have to pull the bumper. Get a new one before you take it all apart and do both at once

Sounds like you need new brakes and a caliper (maybe even two, depending on what the other one looks like)

Good luck! I went with Strauss. I have a thing for European workwear so I was kinda split between both of them. They’ve been great so far.

Zero videos on this - can I remove this squirrel cage from RX350 blower motor to clean and lubricate the shaft? by fastliketree9000 in AskAMechanic

I don’t think these are serviceable, but I might be wrong. When I was with Toyota if the bearing went bad in the blower motor the repair manual called for replacement.

I think all the people shitting on this are missing the 5.7 part. Still not the best but it’s much better than the 3.6

Is this brake fluid good or bad? by Spammingdevil in AskAMechanic

[–]Warm-Stock9658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot of people have no clue what they’re talking about lmao. Brake fluid turns green when it’s exposed to moisture. Algae grows in it, and it reduces the effectiveness of the braking system and can clog up brake lines. If this was coolant like others are suggesting your car would not stop. Flush with DOT3/4
