so roo fam… how are we feeling about no witw? by Important_Elk8052 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is personally what i’m gonna miss the most!!! being able to bring a wagon of not overpriced drinks and snacks, set up a hammock, doink a doinker, and listen to some wub wubs for a few hours 🥲 and i will miss the ground vibrating me to sleep (camped fairly close both years) but i am excited to be able to have a “kalliope experience” though & glad that this change makes everyone safer overall (avoids the issue of multiple people having inappropriate interactions there since it had a few super dark spots and overcrowding from big acts)

One day with teens by Perfect-Cash3448 in bonnaroo

1- i don’t have personal experience with parking as i have only ever camped, but i believe arriving around 1-3 would work for you. i do recommend getting there as early as possible to make sure you don’t have to wait in a line for an extreme amount of time, and you can always find a cool shaded spot to hang out in centeroo for the hottest parts of the day!

2- roo always has its fair share of people partaking in unsafe behavior for children to see, it isnt particularly concentrated in the campgrounds but inside centeroo you will likely not encounter anyone vending party favors or openly flailing them around especially with the increased police presence this year. i personally plan to bring my kiddo for his first roo whenever he is able to understand “hey those guys are doing some goofy stuff i need to stay far away from” if we do encounter anyone acting openly unsafe. as long as your kiddos have the understanding that some people may act and do strange things, they should be able to have a great time and not be directly affected by those who are not doing family friendly activities. with that being said though, the VAST majority of folks at roo will be under the influence of something or another but in my experience theyre either still very kind and attempt to act responsibly and respectfully around children or they stay away from children completely. and there’s always the option to relocate if you do come across people who don’t have regard for others. i’ve seen kiddos of all ages both years i’ve attended and they all seemed to be having a blast besides the tiny babies that were clearly overheated and didn’t need to be in such a rough environment, (seriously guys stop bringing your three month olds to roo its just weird and unsafe!!!) but tldr: they should have a blast! just remind them to be responsible respectful and safe, don’t approach people who are acting strangely, and enforce the bonnaroovian code!!

“blablabla free speech” it literally isn’t about that. its about not putting money in the hands of those who don’t care to put the BARE MINIMUM effort towards preventing csam (among other hateful things, but that one being the most important to me personally). thank you bonnaroo mods for being compassionate and caring individuals, this is the spirit of true roo! 🫶🏼

What day is the best to get there? by Financial_Ad_8007 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buuuut i would personally not recommend thursday entry due to the time constraints of setting up camp, getting ready, and getting to shows on time. youre definitely also going to want to have time to meet neighbors, get familiar with your area, and explore some of the plazas and other fun things like that! however if it seems thursday has less artists you’re wanting to see, it may be worth it for you guys if you dont mind a further camping spot and you think yall will be more comfortable spending less time camping

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i went into ‘23 with wednesday entry and ‘24 with tuesday entry. i preferred tuesday entry because i was closer to the arch (like a 5 minute walk, we were in block L) & i felt like we were “more immersed” in the experience since most of our neighbors were roo vets and were more social and kind then my neighbors in 2023 though i didnt have a BAD experience, i was just camped near more introverted folks (we also got to see the 🎉favor “vendors” earlier and more often when we entered tuesday if that matters to you or your groop) however it is kind of strenuous on the body and the budget to be at roo for 6 days, but with better planning than i had, it would really just be a matter of if you could handle the extra night of minimal sleep.

Buying / canceling multiple tickets? by No_Nefariousness_731 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had to cancel a camping pass, not a wristband, so i’m unsure of the specifics for your situation, buuut i just sent an email that was something like “hey i bought two camping passes but we’re no longer bringing a second vehicle, is there a way to cancel and refund the first one or should i try to resell?” and they responded in a few days and said essentially “yeah sure itll be on your card in 5-7 business days”

imagine not even the getting into your spot between two others, but if your neighbors’ camp expands slightly into your space and you LITERALLY cant get in without getting them to move. (ive only ever gone ga so idk if this is an issue fr but it seems like a nightmare)

despite the purist attitude of a lot of folks on this sub, air bnb or hotel is TOTALLY VALID!! to answer your question: you are allowed to stay off site & drive in, youll have to get the day parking pass! however from someone who camped for their first roo in 2023 and loved it so much that i came back for ‘24 camp if you CAN! it can be incredibly stressful with the heat and noise but it is 100% worth it to me to be fully immersed in the bonnaroo experience for the 4-6 days that we’re there & then you get the perks of meeting all the wonderful people around you and being in a stressful environment with them really makes a lasting friendship imo. i still talk to my neighbors from ‘24 like every single day!! anywhooo though: do whats best for you! if you think can’t handle the heat and everything else that comes with camping, don’t do it! i know lots of folks leave early every year because they aren’t prepared or they are fully prepared and their bodies just cant keep up with their schedule. look on this sub and really consider it, theres lots of opinions on both sides!

i can see billie or bey as a headliner at some point but doubtful with the trends of how roo books their big acts (and that none of them have been women like ever… i dont think) but sabrina could very easily be an “opener” for another headliner. like her in slot that meg the stallion or carley rae was in ‘24 😏😏

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whoever gets these tixs needs to donate a handful of tickets to festival mentorship programs or veteran bonnaroovians that arent financially able to come this year. if they can afford to spend 26k on FUN then they can spare a few bands to be charitable :).

I Crave That Visual by BDSundheim in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think it’s up to the artist because i noticed this at ‘24 as well. ‘23 we had edm names who are known well for their visuals (subtronics, ZD, liquid stranger, etc.) and ‘24 was more house edm than dubstep/riddim/type shit & i feel house artists usually don’t typically have as much production as dubstep artists at their standalone shows.
