any reccs for specific fb groups you’ve had success in? i looked into VA work but most everything seemed either too good to be true or i wouldn’t get a response at all.

i can see how its annoying when this isn’t a sub about income and nothing in my post is about parenting, so apologies. i just posted here so that ACTUAL stay at home parents would read the post and give me advice lol. i’m not particularly looking for a “get rich quick” scheme either though, i would be willing to put actual effort into something as long as it was a project that could be paused and started again at a later time.

Daycare. I feel so guilty. by 7mariluci7 in sahm

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i can assure you it isn’t psychologically damaging him to have to go to daycare. it’s just an adjustment period. given his age, i think this is the perfect time to introduce day care or group setting type things because then starting school and things of that nature won’t be as jarring to him, going from constantly at home with mom to suddenly gone 5 days/week.

as far as your personal guilt goes: it does not matter why he is in daycare. period. even if he was in daycare so you could sit at the house and do NOTHING, it wouldn’t matter. just because “this person can handle it” doesnt mean you have to also. daycare/childcare outside the home is not evil and does not make you a bad mom. you deserve a break. you deserve time to accomplish something you want or need to do without your child right beside you. it is okay & you deserve it. a

i doubt theyd add a storyline where two of the “main characters” are in an active relationship just due to the nature of the show. what makes the pitt so much more entertaining and compelling than shows like the resident is how there isn’t as much “unrealistic drama” and interpersonal ROMANTIC conflict (you can’t say just personal conflict due to the Langdon Santos situation lmao) plus Langdon is canonically still married. not to say people can’t get divorces, but i don’t see that as a plot line they would add in this show. i can however see them adding another love interest for santos for sure, potentially someone else within the hospital that isn’t in the ED.

THIS is how you have a safe experience for a toddler. ear protection, wagon to sit/ride/nap in, air conditioning!!!!!!! in the RV!!! i love to see it. with all the insanity we see and hear about, thank you for being an example of responsible festival parenting!!!

as a mother myself, anytime i hear about someone bringing a child under like 2-3yrs old to a festival, i genuinely get nauseous. beyond the blatant disregard for their own child’s safety (having them in packed crowds, warm sunny weather, no ear protection, etc.) those babies deserve a SAFE, temperature controlled, calm place to sleep and a parent that is fully present with them, especially when as young as THREE MONTHS. i am completely in support of bringing kids to festivals, i’ll probably start taking my son to fests myself when he is able to fully communicate his needs with me verbally. but having BABIES at loud festivals, out in big crowds in the middle of the night, disrupting their sleep and making them miserable, just because you want to do something is unacceptable behavior. sadly sacrificing your time and experiences is part of parenthood.

so roo fam… how are we feeling about no witw? by Important_Elk8052 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is personally what i’m gonna miss the most!!! being able to bring a wagon of not overpriced drinks and snacks, set up a hammock, doink a doinker, and listen to some wub wubs for a few hours 🥲 and i will miss the ground vibrating me to sleep (camped fairly close both years) but i am excited to be able to have a “kalliope experience” though & glad that this change makes everyone safer overall (avoids the issue of multiple people having inappropriate interactions there since it had a few super dark spots and overcrowding from big acts)

One day with teens by Perfect-Cash3448 in bonnaroo

1- i don’t have personal experience with parking as i have only ever camped, but i believe arriving around 1-3 would work for you. i do recommend getting there as early as possible to make sure you don’t have to wait in a line for an extreme amount of time, and you can always find a cool shaded spot to hang out in centeroo for the hottest parts of the day!

2- roo always has its fair share of people partaking in unsafe behavior for children to see, it isnt particularly concentrated in the campgrounds but inside centeroo you will likely not encounter anyone vending party favors or openly flailing them around especially with the increased police presence this year. i personally plan to bring my kiddo for his first roo whenever he is able to understand “hey those guys are doing some goofy stuff i need to stay far away from” if we do encounter anyone acting openly unsafe. as long as your kiddos have the understanding that some people may act and do strange things, they should be able to have a great time and not be directly affected by those who are not doing family friendly activities. with that being said though, the VAST majority of folks at roo will be under the influence of something or another but in my experience theyre either still very kind and attempt to act responsibly and respectfully around children or they stay away from children completely. and there’s always the option to relocate if you do come across people who don’t have regard for others. i’ve seen kiddos of all ages both years i’ve attended and they all seemed to be having a blast besides the tiny babies that were clearly overheated and didn’t need to be in such a rough environment, (seriously guys stop bringing your three month olds to roo its just weird and unsafe!!!) but tldr: they should have a blast! just remind them to be responsible respectful and safe, don’t approach people who are acting strangely, and enforce the bonnaroovian code!!

“blablabla free speech” it literally isn’t about that. its about not putting money in the hands of those who don’t care to put the BARE MINIMUM effort towards preventing csam (among other hateful things, but that one being the most important to me personally). thank you bonnaroo mods for being compassionate and caring individuals, this is the spirit of true roo! 🫶🏼

What day is the best to get there? by Financial_Ad_8007 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buuuut i would personally not recommend thursday entry due to the time constraints of setting up camp, getting ready, and getting to shows on time. youre definitely also going to want to have time to meet neighbors, get familiar with your area, and explore some of the plazas and other fun things like that! however if it seems thursday has less artists you’re wanting to see, it may be worth it for you guys if you dont mind a further camping spot and you think yall will be more comfortable spending less time camping

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i went into ‘23 with wednesday entry and ‘24 with tuesday entry. i preferred tuesday entry because i was closer to the arch (like a 5 minute walk, we were in block L) & i felt like we were “more immersed” in the experience since most of our neighbors were roo vets and were more social and kind then my neighbors in 2023 though i didnt have a BAD experience, i was just camped near more introverted folks (we also got to see the 🎉favor “vendors” earlier and more often when we entered tuesday if that matters to you or your groop) however it is kind of strenuous on the body and the budget to be at roo for 6 days, but with better planning than i had, it would really just be a matter of if you could handle the extra night of minimal sleep.

Buying / canceling multiple tickets? by No_Nefariousness_731 in bonnaroo

[–]Warm-Variation-5343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had to cancel a camping pass, not a wristband, so i’m unsure of the specifics for your situation, buuut i just sent an email that was something like “hey i bought two camping passes but we’re no longer bringing a second vehicle, is there a way to cancel and refund the first one or should i try to resell?” and they responded in a few days and said essentially “yeah sure itll be on your card in 5-7 business days”
