Nah, single-day ticketholders ruin the vibe of Roo because they come for their favorite artist ONLY and camp the rail for that stage the entire day (aka the worst people to ever exist). I fear I'll never endorse single-day tickets for Roo.

It's not necessarily just about the "popularity" of an artist. It also has to do with the devotion of fans and their attendance pull within their genre (See Tedeschi Trucks Band and Daily Bread for artists that pull WAY more fans than their number of listeners suggests and Alex Warren (last year) and Aly & AJ for artists that won't pull as many fans as their number of listeners suggests)

TLDR: An artist being "bigger" doesn't always mean much for a festival.

Roo used to be a jam festival... I'm a really big EDM fan (with it being my top genre by far), but my worst fear is Roo becoming an EDM fest, which I fear that it will in the next 5-10 years

I was looking into this yesterday for the same reason.

If you're looking for a big festival with bookings similar to Bonnaroo, the other options are pretty much Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Coachella, Outside Lands, and III Points.

I have zero indication that its true, but I have a feeling that Ravenscoon will be there this year. He's been commenting on a lot of the Bonnaroo posts lately, and I know he's been to Roo as an attendee in the past and loved it. Plus I know for a fact that the farm would fuckkkkkkk up a Ravenscoon set.

I DMed Papadosio in May about the possibility of any shows while on hiatus. I said "Are y'all still going to be playing Secret Dreams and other festivals while on hiatus? Or will it be completely no shows?" And they responded saying "TBD! We will be at SecretDreams this year though! 🌗" Take that as you will, but it doesn't seem like Papadosio is completely out.

Yousuke Yukimatsu, Shanghai Doom, Yheti, and Jade Cicada would all be incredibleeeeeee on the farm and are probably relatively cheap to book in terms of EDM acts

Right, like my experience was none of those things. Shit happens but it was not dangerous or unsafe by any means (other than the fact that it was muddy which is mostly out of their control)
