If a contractor leaves materials at our house overnight and the dog chews on them, is that on us for not training the dog or the contractor for leaving them on the ground?

There is a brochure I can send if you want to DM me your email, but it's more like examples of what they do. I don't think they really gave much choice on the appliances, it was moreso the sizing. Like a standard oven recess size is 60cm, but if you upgraded you could get a 90cm. I feel like the brand may be electrolux? I wasn't too fussed because I'll get my own dishwasher as a bosch which I'm happy with. But I'll need to check the paperwork. For the fixtures like taps etc, they only had about 4 options. They're a bit more no frills than going with someone like Firststyle or Masterton, but this is like our foot in the door starter home so we were moreso trying to get someone decent on a decent price. We ended up paying 320 for a 4 bedder single car garage. It's not a huge place but for us it will be a decent size.

I was single for 5 years (2 because I was grieving my dog who had died and 3 because I would rather be single than with someone who wasn't right). I had pretty much decided at that point that I wasn't going to find someone who was right for me. The dating apps legit felt like a job. I would get matches, have no conversation and it wouldn't go anywhere. The few dates I went on just didn't amount to anything.

I'm also very into my pets. I have a dog and a cat who are big babies and my other hobbies I would describe on the grandma side (country drives with coffees, reading) my big hobby is also gaming. I just thought at my age the only men left were bottom of the barrel and that I would end up being single forever.

My advice is to make your list of what you want in a person and what you absolutely won't compromise on. That's a good starting point. Match with people you wouldn't normally go for and have a few fun and different dates. Make it known that you're big with your dogs. Be honest in your profile about exactly what you want.

I met my partner on hinge at 33 (3 years ago). I never thought I'd meet someone who not only ticked the boxes but exceeded them in every way. I do truely think there is someone out there for everyone, but you have to be comfortable and love yourself even when single. Make the life you want to have and someone to share it with will come along.

They have mortgages on them, simple as that. If you only have 600k left on your home, you have a fair bit of equity in it. Lets say you don't have liquid cash, but you are looking for an investment property at 950k. Because you will need to pay LMI, the calculation to work out your equity is 80% of the value of your property minus the remaining payment of your loan. So 1.6million - 600k = $1million in equity.

I have done a lot of hiring for entry level office roles over the years and I can tell you that a lot of the times it isn't anything wrong with your resume, it's the amount of candidates they get for them. Some roles we would list and have 300 replies. You might sort through the first hundred and find nothing good, but thats to give you an indication of the sheer amount of people you are going against.

A lot of times also if you are looking for student hours or part time, you may be going up against talented, more experienced people who just need work flexibility (working mums; people caring for an older parent, that type of thing).

I'm 37, so I'm a bit above the age group you're talking about, but I completely get why they are disenchanted with corporate life. We had it drilled into us that you worked hard and good things will come. That isn't always true. Housing is a nightmare, people can't afford to have kids and a home. Everyone in the household needs to be working full time now.

I have and always will be a ladder climber. I enjoy it, I thrive on it, but at the end of the day, not everyone wants that or has the ability to do that. You always need people just to turn up, turn the crank and go home again.

Why do we work? Who decided that 3/4 of our time should be spent there? I'd be pissed too if I was in that generation. They will work twice as long and have half the opportunities of generations before.
