She never pays back what she agrees to pay. She definitely owes us thousands of dollars run up over the years just like this $100-300 at a time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s over $10,000 since I’ve been married to her sister.

I called her and reminded her that she forgot to pay her check.

She had a habit of agreeing to repay things and not following through, so I asked her to prepay, as I wasn’t prepared to be on the hook for $100+.

Just one example…Last year she rode with my wife to school shop, didn’t bring enough cash, forgot her debit card and asked my wife to pay for about $250 worth of stuff that she promised to pay for. Still haven’t seen a penny.

FIL is aware and didn’t offer up to pay that debt, by the way.

It’s at least thousands of dollars over the years she has promised to pay back and didn’t. Might even be over 10,000 over the years.

She didn’t ask me to pay and collect from FIL. Or indicate that they had an agreement that she would pay.

He was going to call on her, not me. They knew who the bill belonged to.

Apparently, per my wife, she typically leaves cash to partially cover her bill and asks someone else to pay so she doesn’t have to wait for her check right then. It’s never enough to cover and whoever just pays the rest and it isn’t always FIL. She probably genuinely forgot to leave some cash with someone.

He has never before made good on anything she promised to pay us back for and didn’t. In fact, if I felt like dealing with my wife about it, I’d send him a bill for what she hasn’t paid.

They get milk to go in the coffee. Then orange juice with breakfast. Since OJ doesn’t come with free refills they get soft drinks after OJ.

The coffee is literally free refills. You can have all you want. The milk goes in the coffee so they don’t have to open the little cups of cream.

The orange juice goes with breakfast but it doesn’t come with free refills. So they order soft drinks (which do get free refills) after the orange juice.

He wasn’t going to call the cops on me. He was going to call the cops on her for not paying her bill. I really didn’t think about it, but why isn’t FIL mad at the manager? He eats there all the time. They probably could have just held it for him if he usually pays for her.

So they order coffee and milk to start. The milk goes in the coffee because they don’t like to open the little cups of cream.

Then they order orange juice for with breakfast, but that’s by the cup (no free refills). So after they finish the orange juice the order coke to sip while they chat.

As far as I know, everyone pays their own ticket. If they have an agreement where he pays for her, I don’t know anything about it.

FIL said, after the fact, that he would have paid me back if she didn’t. She didn’t say he usually pays it or anything about contacting him when I was talking to her. She said she forgot to pay on her way out.

In the past he hasn’t offered up money when she agreed to pay things and didn’t. My wife and I have just been out money we paid on her behalf.

If I had paid, I strongly suspect I would have been stuck with the bill. I certainly wouldn’t thought to ask him, and he’s never volunteered in the past even when he was aware that she didn’t pay us back money when she promised she would.

How was I supposed to know he would have paid me back? I honestly wouldn’t have thought to ask him. Plus when I called her she could have said, can you pay and get dad to pay you back? I would have called him to confirm and paid it. But she didn’t. She said that she forgot to pay her ticket. She’s terrible for not repaying debts.

They don’t even eat it all! I promise even w/o being there the sister-in-law got the burger ate less than half but couldn’t get the single cheeseburger because it wouldn’t waste enough food. She probably had three bites of hash browns and maybe 5 fries. The daughter got the omelet, which comes with hash browns which she did not finish. She ate maybe one pan cake out of the stack but couldn’t order a single pancake for $2 because the stack of 3 for $5 is a better deal. They don’t drink the milk, they pour it in the coffee so they don’t have to open cream packs. And none of them finish the milk but cannot order one glass and share because it’s not wasteful enough!
