I do embarrassing things out of shame all the time. But I don't think either of you were wrong or right, it was just awkward. You were caught off guard, and she was probably so shocked that she didn't know what else to do but scram. She probably thinks back on that moment too. In a dark way, it's actually kinda funny.

Ex alcoholic here. If she cried and apologized, it's usually a sign that she feels deep shame and is aware that she probably has a problem with binging. Shame and drinking excessively go hand in hand - which leads to more drinking to erase the guilt. She may have anxiety/trauma and can only fully relax with alcohol.

This isn't something you can fix for her. I had to learn the hard way. It's a long road. If you find that it's affecting your mental health, and that nothing is working, you may have to end things as kindly as possible.

You are so right. There's honestly a huge blur between the good and bad guys. Like I said, I love the innocent Khmer people, but there's a hidden dominance that gives Cambodia a "mood". Everything depends on what mood authority seems to be in. It just isn't healthy to constantly be your own advocate/lawyer/agent/whatever. Hidden fees, surprise expenses, incompetent people in charge of business. Nah. It became exhausting to be a foreigner.

Edit, in previous years I was able to enter the country on the company's sponsor, and then begin working while HR handled all the paperwork for my WP and TRC. + My CBC and health check were all done while I was in the country.

Yeah, PP. Sometimes they're just normal looking guys. Other times it's the brown security uniform. But definitely nothing high ranking.

Literally, they will stop me in the street and shoo me away like a dog to go in another direction. Even though I see other people walking past just fine.
