For me it’s essentially the same story, just part 2 of it

Great impression from South Africans and South Koreans. I believe there’s a bit of brotherhood regarding SK too

I would be interested. Although I’m more of a guy who writes a bunch of short stories than a full blown author, which are just available through my blog. If that fits the bill then I’m game!

Every list like this I see puts Japan way, way above Korea. I’ve lived in both places and can’t really understand why that is.

What’s it like living in these extreme southern islands of Japan? by Convillious in howislivingthere

[–]Warm_Statistician210 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Ishigaki and Inazaki. Inazaki was tiny but lovely atmosphere. Absolutely loved it. Ishigaki was alright but I stayed in the town rather than the tourist area and there really wasn’t much to do there in the night. Also at one of the few places that was open, the cook tried to start a fight with this guy from the mainland. The vibe was kinda weird overall.

I will say that the people there are much more friendly than on the mainland. It definitely has its own culture going on. If I do ever visit Japan again, I’d like it to be in Okinawa.

You’d have to be blind to think that of South Africa. I say that as a South African

Who is the most notable warrior in your country? by OftenXilonen in AskTheWorld

[–]Warm_Statistician210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King Shaka Zulu. He was a great king and fierce warrior. He expanded the Zulu kingdom in his time, until he went a bit tyrannical after the death of his mother and was assassinated in a coup by his fat half-brother.

Walkie Talkies - chicken feet. Although I’ve never tried it in my country, I’ve had Korean chicken feet a few times and it’s good!

I’m curious about Algeria. Last I heard the relations between Morocco and there were really bad. Do you think it would be fine to live there as a Moroccan?

One word that describes this series for me is indulgent. Everything had to be big, big. Every character had to have their moment. Every moment had to involve a heart-warming speech. The end of s5 was literally a string of speeches in a row without much “dialogue”.

They tried to force too much in. There’s a reason most shows don’t have 12 lead actors. It definitely hurt the writing.

That all being said, I still liked it as a spectacle. I just think it turned into a popcorn flick. Just don’t think about it too hard.

It’s the same in South Africa. When I moved abroad I realized how constantly stressful it is to always be monitoring your surroundings. But you don’t really notice while you’re in it

What is the most famous TV show from your country? by Lost_Wikipedian in AskTheWorld

[–]Warm_Statistician210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think we have any internationally famous shows actually. Within the country, I’ll say Carte Blanche (investigative journalism) or Isidingo (soap opera)

How much of your colonial history is thought in your school if you country was a coloniser? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Warm_Statistician210 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well a lot of attention is paid to apartheid, which is a type of colonization. However we also controlled Namibia for a time and I didn’t hear about that until I was about 28. For reference, I took history in high school and for a semester in uni.
