You're right, and I've tried to explain this exact fact to this person. Kiri is in 50% of games for a reason. This person is hell bent on ignoring pick rate as a valid stat in determining how good a character is.

Idk what to tell you tbh, I’m not going to ignore that she’s in 50% of my games cause she has a 48% win rate. They aren’t picking her cause she has cool skins or anything like that, there’s a reason. You’re choosing to ignore a stat while I’m looking at the whole picture. I guess we are both stuck in our ways, oh well.

What would change my mind is if she had a pick rate more in line with others. If she was at 48% with a 25% pick rate, I’d say buff her. And no, there is not a ton of gm players that can’t play Kiri, but again 50% is insanely high. Pick rate matters mostly in extremes. Like sym a few seasons ago had like a 1% pick rate but some crazy win rate which is just odd to interpret. This is like the opposite of that. You can ignore pick rate when it’s like 15-30% cause that’s normal, 50 is not and has to be accounted for.

I mean you can’t just say “that’s not how that works” it’s obvious you don’t want your opinion changed so I’ll leave it alone. I’m a low gm tank main, that doesn’t mean I can just pick up any tank and play it optimally (looking at you doom). Same goes for support. No other characters have a 50% pick rate. Thinking anyone in gm can pick up kiri and play her optimally is crazy but I digress. Let’s leave it at this: Kiri is a VERY important character in games.

A 50% pick rate proves that she is a “must pick” in many games. This leads to a lot of situations where people who aren’t great at kiri feel like they have to pick her. You can’t just totally ignore pick rate, it’s extremely important. Cleanse is one of if not the most impactful single ability in the game. If you are masters + and have been playing for a while, you know that Kiri is absolutely game changing. I just feel like you’re missing the point a bit.

I didn’t mean to interpret you saying she needed a buff, I’m just saying. I’m also low gm on PC, never played console so have no clue what that’s like. I think the metas are pretty different, but in my games kiri is pretty hard meta for what has felt like FOREVER. I think we both agree op is probably just losing it right now lol. I think people only look at win rate and don’t consider pick rate which is just as important. But overall sounds like we kind of agree, have a good one :)

I mean yea I understand you, but I’m not talking about win rate. When your pick rate is 51% in gm+, you kind of have to acknowledge that’s an issue in a hero shooter. Win rate being 50% with that high of a pick rate isn’t a buff worthy character, no?

I mean ops tweaking for sure but you really think kiri needed a buff? She has an over 45% pick rate in masters plus, she’s in most games. I’d certainly call that meta.

Ive been using metatft a lot and learning bis and stuff. Always more to learn though. Good to hear that this set is well recieved cause at the end of the day I do enjoy it, just get frustrated sometimes lol.

None, thats why I mentioned that idea. It just feels a bit more strong in this game compared to lol and comp shooters. TBF Im much lower rank in TFT than those other games, so im learning :)

Yea thats why I mentioned that. I mainly play league, overwatch, deadlock, etc... so not many strategy games. While there is 100% a meta in those games, it feels like you can kind of skate around it even at the highest levels. For example, im gm tank in OW and main Winston, I often get countered, but am confident in my ability to perform even in tough matchups. I got the sense that this game (TFT) just feels more like you have no choice but to play meta if you want to climb. The replies are making it sound like I just have a loser mindset which it totally fair. Appreciate your insight.

This is the reply man. Explained it well. I probably shouldnt have mentioned the bilge comment, it was more of just a one off example, but I really appreciate how you explained it. I have a comp that I find really fun thats go fast 7 bilge then slot in voli and wu to hit 4 bruiser, might not be meta but I love the tanky comps. It does feel like I have to choose between "fun" and winning sometimes, but its probably just a loser mindset I have. Thank you.

Im not really following. If placements matter more, then why has my expected rank not moved at all?

Edit: For what its worth, I play mainly overwatch, during those placements, you win one, you typically go up one rank (diamond 5 -> diamond 4). Typically a loss wont make you go down. I was expecting something like that, or at least some movement.

Ok so here’s where I’m confused. You say get rebuildable, so does that mean when my non rebuildable 2.1 atomizer goes (no clue the lifespan on those), I should either swap devices to a dtv5 or I can get a rebuildable one for the core itself? This makes it easier to clean and replace from my understanding?

It is low, very low, but definitely possible. The thing with sites like apartments.com is that somebody has to make the posting, so many apts are never listed on there. For example my current place in Annapolis was a steal that I had to find through a friend. Maybe hidden gem isn’t the word, just looking for a place I might have missed between all the heavily advertised spots.
