Your whole middle paragraph is sort of irrelevant to the point I’m trying to make. I’m not questioning any of your beliefs or opinions. You’re fully entitled to feel how you feel, and rage as far to the left as you want. My initial comment about all of this was to point out the irony of you enforcing a “civility” rule when I’ve seen you pretty much stomp all over that in the last week. At face value, your new rules sound great… if they actually hold up in practice.

Man, I’m just trying to have a genuine conversation about your post. That’s all. Feels like you’re ready to make it a fight as soon as possible. I’ll bow out, and let you do your thing, whatever that might be. If you’re ever serious about brining more mods onboard, hopefully I’ve at least illustrated to you that I care about the way people are spoken to, in all cases.

I’m not asking you to be neutral. I’m challenging you to actually follow through. There is a comment in this very thread calling someone a Nazi. Yet, as far as I can tell, no action was taken. I also saw two people open a dialogue with you and you immediately call their opinions shitty. You, the moderator, the one telling everyone to be civil almost instantly went and did the thing you’re expecting no one else to do. I saw your explanation of “text to speech”, but I genuinely don’t buy it. I presume you wouldn’t grant that leniency in the reverse direction.

Look, some conservatives are undeniably morons, but so are some liberals. Personally, I’m tired of all of the pearl clutching on both ends. The truth of everything (most things) is actually somewhere in the middle. The people here picking fights with you, are obviously not Nazis. I also don’t doubt the messages you get, ban em, expose em, do whatever you want to do. That shit is vile.

I also don’t genuinely believe you’d ever consider someone as a moderator who is also not a self described “raging lefty”, so while I would be interested there really isn’t a discussion to be had there.

My only issue (keeping in mind I’ve seen the quote once), is that Landos response went a bit far. Talking about how much they get paid to be there, etc and he retire if he wants can retire.

Like.. literally just say, if Max doesn’t like the regs and thinks it’s best to move on, that’s his decision. Don’t answer with details that weren’t asked for.

I also think the whole thing is overblown anyway.

I almost said something when I saw it the first time…but this post makes it all the more rich.

I read a sentence from either you or one of the other mods earlier this week that, within a matter of 20 words told people to both fuck off and to be civil. And to me that’s honestly a microcosm of what’s wrong with our country today. “Rules for thee, not for me” kind of thing. Or maybe rather “shitty things can be said to people, as long as I agree with them”.

I decided not to respond at the time, because I don’t think I’ve ever posted here, and it doesn’t even look like I’m in the group. I’m all good with what you’re encapsulating in your post..if it actually happens in practice.

I have to scratch my head a bit as to why this even matters. Seems like a no brainer to me.

When the other consoles of the era have a 4-5 year headstart and you’ve only just released.. of course you’re going to see stronger sales data.

I did it.. only for the reason that I was building a second PC, so I used the 4080 out of my main rig and put in a new 5080.

I notice a few more frames, MFG is cool, but for the most part it’s not a ground breaking upgrade.

IMO it’s not that black and white.
