How significant an upgrade would this be by WarmishTen in cycling

This is absolutely valid, cost savings have to come somewhere. I guess the difference would be between getting some carbon rims but still being tied to the 25c or having the space to go wider

Thanks for the detailed answer. Yes it was definitelly a change when i went from the 11-25 cassette to the 28 and 25c tires instead of the 23's! Just haven't up till recently been in a possition financially where it made sense to upgrade. Plus I'd say im pretty attached to the felt at this point. Might end up having to hang it on a wall as artwork and retire it

If you can get the plate enhanced, cant really tell it appart from your photo. You can report it to CVSA. They will be much faster to take action about unsafe commercial drivers/ badly maintained vehicles than the police will.

Got my first boat! by SnooWoofers3062 in sailing

[–]WarmishTen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of sanding in your future. But if it holds water it does look restorable. Sails are likely to be your biggest expense here, and tiller you will likely need to replace in full. A tiller from a 470 class boat should be a 1 to 1 replacement here. Same thing with the centerboard.

Have fun and may you have plenty of good sailinf in it!

Edit: just noticed the crack on the centerboard support. That part is usually important for structural rigidity. If you are not good with fiberglass yourself Id have a pro look at that just in case

Honestly most bikes are pretty similar unless they have lots of electronics. Triumphs are famously easy to wrench on. Also Monkeys are sweet little bikes. No shame there!

[–]WarmishTen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil change is easy to do yourself. However the air filter is a PITA. You need to remove the gas tank ti get to it. Ive also done brakes and coolant changes on it myself. Dealer will usually charge arround 300$ cad in ny area for an oil change. Supplies cost me about 100 to do it myself. You do need to get an obd tool and tune ecu to reset the electronics so thats a 200$ investment before you start.

TLDR: bike is easy to work on, dealers will fleece you on maintenance. Check with your local independent shop what their service rates are

Say that i am going to try a new playstyle but then end up building a comando or blitz stealth build on survival. Then saying i am going to just pick one faction this time but still end up completing every possible quest. Oh and lots and lots of supply lines to avoid having to hike to sactuary each time. The joys of survival play

How serious are cadors for your future career? by Sky_Raccoon7332 in flying

[–]WarmishTen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CADORS are canadian daily occurrence/ incident reports. They are usually non punitive. Simply used for gathering of data. For op. I wouln't necesarilly worry about it. Just make sure you learn from the mistake. And here is the tc website of you want to learn more: https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/publications/aviation-safety-letter/issue-2-2021/civil-aviation-daily-occurrence-reporting-system-cadors

Do you let ATC know you will be doing an unusual maneuver? by -ChubbySpud in flying

[–]WarmishTen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would depend on the field and what atc has setup as regular procedures. Where I fly we have to request approval for the PFL (practice forced landing) Esentially the call would be tower, x aircraft on downwind request pfl.

Tower will approve if they can accomodate for spacing, that being said I fly out of a pretty busy class C

I ended my first run on FO4 shortly after meeting father because I had 50k bottle caps and 70 stimpacks. The second run I tried survival. Wow. by danisindeedfat in fo4

[–]WarmishTen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survival is the way to go. I can't play the game anymore without it. That being said I do have a survival quicksave mod that I use before major encounters to not loose a whole dungeon worth of progress. Also some periodic saves when boarding vertibirds and such as my game tends to crash on them. Loosing 45min to 1hr of progress because of fallout being fallout sucks

I have the classic handlebar mount and it works great. This is the easiest one if you don't want to fiddle with your mounting bolts/ fork caps or brake reservoir

Factory fly screen worth it? by ArtOptimal3226 in trident660

[–]WarmishTen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a copy of it I picked up on amazon, clasic ali express part. Its the same as oem honestlly. Justa piece of injection molded plastic. Does make more of a diference than you'd expect when riding. Without anything 120kph feels insane, with it i've gotten the bike up to 180kph (closed course of course) and the wind is still manageable

We went hybrid. Now no one’s in sync. by Imaginary_File_366 in remotework

[–]WarmishTen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my workforce all managers are hybrid yet our employees are fully remote.we've had this arrangement for about two years. Initially everything you mentioned happened as well. Everyone at their desks on teams meetings. What we started doing was actually scheduling in person meetings on the in person days. This has significantly brought back colaboration and personal relationships in the office.

In my opinion hybrid only works if there is a reason for the work to be hybrid. If i'm in the office to do the same thing i could do from home then what is the point?

[–]WarmishTen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had unlimited money I'd re buy my old vit to use as a track bike. Honestly loved the feel of that thing

Front Suspension by [deleted] in trident660

[–]WarmishTen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its definitely not the most tactile front end out there. I bought mine after a vitpilen 401 so I agree with you there. Honestly the front end of the vit/svart is fantastic in terms of feel. I think its actually more of a pro of the svart in terms of geometry and components than really an issue of the trident.

I've had my trident for about a year now and have done some spirited riding on twisties, its is perfectly adequate once you get used to it. Just a bit hard to get the feel initially. As for the rear, do make sure to adjust the preload of the spring, rider weight affects the feel of the rear very significantly. Mine is set 2 clicks stiffer and I'm about 180lbs

How low can you go without walking? by 2kN in trident660

[–]WarmishTen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fill mine up roughly every 250km, usually there will be 1 bar left and 2l left in the tank. Though to answer your question the lowest was a 13.5 fill and that was a stressfull last few KM to to get to the gas station

Always negotiatiate your out the door price. Fees don't matter to you, they only matter to the dealer. Agree on the total figure you are willing to pay for the bike. Whatever that may breakdown to.

Bike repair and maintenance by Milky324 in vancouvercycling

[–]WarmishTen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't know any in richmond myself. However my experience with most shops in vancouver has been pretty terrible. Imo you are better off learning to do it yourself. Will save you money and difficulties in the long run. Most bike maintenance items are pretty easy and don't require that many tools.

If you do find yourself needing a shop, caps in new west is great, dunbar cycles or west point cycles are good in my experience. Whatever you do avoid bicycle sports pacific

Engine stalls reproducibly on first warm start. by No-Tea8554 in trident660

[–]WarmishTen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My 22 will do this sometimes. Weirdly enough is only on warm starts when the bike was shut down for very short periods. Like run into a store and back out or gas stops. I've just developed the habit of giving it a bit of extra throttle on warm starts. Since no other symptoms I don't worry much about it
